Apple might be planning keynote for week of September 7th, might have new products on offer

We're hearing "multiple sources" are now reporting that Apple is most likely planning a keynote event -- possibly for the week of September 7th. There's also the requisite murmuring that one Steve Jobs may make an appearance -- though of course, there's also nothing more solid than wishes and fairy dust to back that one up. As far as possible product launches go, well, there have been significant whisperings about upcoming iPod / iTunes developments as of late, including the company's reported dealings with major record labels. This would fall in line with Apple's habit of releasing iPods every fall, and we've heard plenty about upcoming iPod touches which boast, among other things -- a camera and microphone. Daring Fireball has also reported that these bad boys will come in 16, 32 and 64GB varieties running $199, $299, and $399, respectively. In more salacious gossip, there's the possible Apple tablet we've been hearing about, but there's no solid word on any products for now. We'll be watching this one closely, we assure you.

wait? is that a live pic? they are sitting down already? they are just going to wait in that conference room for almost a month? Apple people are weird...
is this just a misdirect from google vs apple or apple apps issue news?
I just took a one week old Time Capsule that suddenly died to warranty; any chance they could be announcing products that actually work / don't fail?
Of course, they're announcing the God machine. It will be completely perfect in every way and not have any possibility of failure. Seriously, though, electronics break down and there are always lemons, from any manufacturer.
Name one piece of electronic equipment that never breaks from any manufacturer on earth.
I know the Zune HD is a sexy piece of kit, but if the new touches do have a camera and mic and 32gbs of memory AND the app store with a bizillion apps on it for $299 then I don't think the Zune has a chance...
Zune HD will have apps as well(and XNA games). To what degree has yet to be seen but you might want to give it a chance to actually come out before you make assumptions like that. Besides, in a non-phone media player I don't really see the draw of a camera or mic. On the other hand, cd-quality radio, OLED screen and 720p output are very much of a draw, since all three are directly applicable. Hell, the 720p output makes the Zune HD every bit as good as the Apple TV for its functions.
I'm doubting an incorporation of a camera into the new touches. Mic, most likely, but I think that apple is going to retain the camera feature so more people buy the iPhone.
Hmmm...September 7, 2010 is a Tuesday. Maybe they have some reaaaaaaaally early info.
*cough*
A keynote for what event? How can you have a keynote all by itself with no event?
That's like throwing out the first pitch when there's no baseball game, or having a kickoff without the football game.
Revised mac mini?! Not likely I guess :-(

@trainwrecka
where did you hear about an announcement for a revised mac mini in xmas of this year? (2009)
Seems a little soon; Mac Minis usually don't get updated as regularly as the more pricey Macs.
-jed.
It's the new iPhone Nano that is due to be announced.
A new iPhone Nano (a cut down 3GS) and a new Nokia N97 Mini (a cut-down N97) are both coming the start of Sept this year.
The iPhone will be exclusive to either Orange or T-Mobile (both are still bidding, Voda have declared themselves out). The N97 will be exclusive to Voda for the first month or so.
Adding The Beatles albums to iTunes for a 9/9/09 release date. One can only hope.
Oh really Laura, MIGHT have some new products?
I'll just have to cross my fingers and hope then, no?
I'm hoping they're finally going to announce AT&Ts support for MMS on the iPhone. As far as I'm concerned, Labor Day is the end of Summer...
