HTC Leo rendered again -- maybe by HTC, more likely by fans
So here's what we know about the Leo with some certainty: it's going to be awesomely high-end. Other than that, though, the sky's the limit; no spec is too wild, no physical design too outlandish until we actually get some official information (or at least some really solid leaks). We wouldn't call these latest renders "solid" by any stretch -- in fact, we're willing to bet it's the result of a daydreamer with some graphic design background -- but we want to believe, especially since the front is basically consistent with what we've seen previously. Imagine a rounded-off Touch HD with WinMo 6.5, a 1GHz Snapdragon, and a 5 megapixel cam accompanied by two high-output LEDs. We love the stylish "Pro.Three" branding (and we guess we're going to forgive the "lorem ipsum" gibberish beneath it since this is a rough, unbranded render), but there are a few holes in this story: for one, we still don't know how this dovetails with Firestone; two, the Touch Pro2 just came out, so we're not sure why they'd release a device with the conflicting "Pro.Three" name so soon thereafter, particularly in a different form factor; and three, this might make more sense as one of HTC's inaugural WinMo 7 devices. Given the rumored pie-in-the-sky October availability date, we'll get this sorted out soon enough.

HTC has fans?
You should take up cheerleading as a career
Gimme an...what the hell? Why are they putting WinMo on this thing? Android all the way baby! An ultra high end smartphone with Android openness...now that would be something to cheer for.
I cant look at an other phones since am saving all my love for the TP2. Sprint the secret sauce is out, how about an official announcement already?
Awaiting for details on this one, Touch Pro 2 is not much of an upgrade from my Touch Pro... HTC please keep em coming!
That's why I skipped the TP when it came out.
@OneLove
Hehe... toilet paper... when the poo came out... hehehe
I feel like I'm 14 again!
I got the TP1 when they I learned that the bigger screen on the TP2 wasn't being matched with better vid hardware or a bigger battery. So it's either going to run hotter or render slower.
Personally, I'll wait for a WiMax version of that render up there, and hope sprint is still around to snag it. Also, some tegra love would be nice.
(PS, TP1 has the best keyboard EVER :P )
for your bung hole.
I WANT STARTEC!!!!
It does look fake indeed. the htc logo doesn't even match the position of the previous so called Leo render leaked early this week.
2 new HTC highend WinMo products with capcitive screen and SnapDragon/tegra are supposed to be announced this fall. Sux that WinMo 7 is late thought. MS is trying hard to make 6.5 finger friedly for these 2 devices though : http://www.mobiletechworld.com/2009/08/08/latest-buid-of-windows-mobile-6-5-tries-to-improve-stylus-free-usability/
What is that, latin? You know I don't speak latin!
Well, lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut, to you, good sir!
It isn't really latin. Look up Lorum Ipsum on teh wiki.
The real question is why a Japanese company would dump a bunch of Lipsum on the back. They're not lazy web developers.
I think the Lipsum on the back should be reason enough. HTC has never written a bunch of text on the outside, and if it was really just for labeling the render, they'd have put it on the side. Not on the battery cover.
I call fake.
Uh, HTC is Taiwanese. But fake, yes.
It does look fake, yet hot.
It should have "FAKE" written all over it, instead of dummy text.
Put Android on this, and you've got yourself a deal.
Seriously. I'd wish HTC would just kill Windows Mobile and put Anrdroid on all their phones, or have an option for either.
Didn't the rumor was that it will support a Qwerty keyboard ? In this render its hard to see that, cuz's it's so thin. . .
It doesn't look like something you'd slap mortar on and build a school house out of so I'm convinced it is a fake. HTC only knows how to make bricks which based on the quality of the BT, stability, battery life and back covers I am convinced they don't assemble the bricks, they simply s#|+ them.
The day they make a sleek, cutting-edge product that works well and doesn't take 6 months for a firmware update to fix the obious flaws you notice within an hour of using their crappy products, I'll S#!+ a brick myself !
You have fun with that sir
I wish I could S#!+ and HTC brick. I would have replaced my Mogul a long time ago!
Dave, I find it hard to believe you couldn't produce something of equal quality to an HTC mogul by just stopping by the porcelain alter. Most differences would be subtle at best. I had the mogul - and in the end :) decided to keep the touch for the last couple of years as it was the least crappy WM phone Sprint carried. If I was on Tmobile or ATT I'd get the Toshiba TG01 or the iPhone. But Tmobile and ATT have horrible cell coverage in Los Angeles and ATT is twice the price for a plan that is even close to my cheapy Sprint bill. While I think Sprint would have a hard time identifiying a cell phone from Crisco, I have to admit I do get good cell coverage (since I can also road to Verizon for free) and I do have a reasonable monthly bill.
I heard it was coming with a quad-core 4ghz processor, 16gb of ram and 1tb of storage - oh and a battery life of 2 seconds. (if we are basing articles on random drawings on the net, my "facts" are just as good).
The battery doesn't need to be any longer; the processor would've fried after 1.5 seconds.
> WinMo 6.5
I quit reading here.
Because you knew you absolutely had to have it.
Fools, look at those corners.
"Put a huge 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen and quick-like-a-bunny Snapdragon 1 GHz processor on a cellphone, and you have a handset we would certainly call "high end." The 11mm-thin HTC Leo, available in the next month or two, brings the serious features, including an autofocusing 5-megapixel camera with a built-in 2-LED flash, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 and a 3.5mm headset jack."
It gets harder to take Dvice.com seriously with each post.
I know, right? 3.5mm headphone jack? What, do you think I'm a fool?
I am not asking anyone to believe these words but I held one of these beautiful phones on Friday night complete with 'lorem ipsum' printed on the back. The phone was according to the owner (who I am guessing wasn't supposed to be flashing it around) was one of 5 in the world. Matte finish is very cool. It runs the as yet unreleased Windows 6.5 but looked very unreleased with terminal type screens on boot up and seemed a bit sluggish. Interface was quite iPhoneesque but I didn't play around too much. The screen was a good 15% bigger than the iPhone and was incredible. This phone is very real my friends. If only it ran Android.
They are real! Confirmed by a leaked Leo rom
http://www.mobiletechworld.com/2009/08/17/htc-leo-renders-confirmed-real-by-leaked-rom/
why would you put android on this phone.. im not a fan of the cartoony look.. and having webkit, and opera mini is better than an iphone.. but having opera mini, opera mobile, webkit w/ iris, and skyfire is always better.. it sucks but all four browsers are better than the others at a few things and i wouldnt want to lose any one.. besides android needs some more UI customization options sense is a great start.. but for now im with wm 6.5..
I'll wait until it mates with a Canon E O S-1Ds Mark III, and then we'll talk! I'll start starving uh I mean saving, and refinancing my home!, pilfer the children stocks and sell the wife's gold. Seriously though I would love this thing, and I bet it will be worth an easy $800, unlike that old Sony X whats its name?
