It's the Satio, and the government has one ==> what does this mean?
It means that they have a shit phone with a shitty screen. That's what.

Ohh i thought there was an idiom meaning for that statement. Never mind anyway. Yeah this is indeed a lovely phone.

Hopefully it doesn't mean that it'll get screwed up like with health care "reform".
iPhone still uses ancient HVGA screen which is only a tiny bit better than in my almost four years old Nokia N80. It sucks when you can notice the pixels so easily.

I am just saying in general how come Verizon has no good phones i mean really, don't get me wrong i truly believe that they have the best coverage (i have not lost signal or dropped a call).
I personally find the BBstorm to be pretty crappy and even if Verizon gets a some what nice phone the hardware is dumb downed compared to AT&T and Sprint, it makes me said and i have a ok phone and i have the cash to get best one and the plan to go with it but whats the point when they have no good phones....
Verizon is the best and worst cell phone company.
Oh and that ericsson looks pretty sexy, does the ericsson series have any fulll keyboard phones?
If you want to talk "no phones" then you have to add T-Mobile into the equation. Except for the G1, T-mo lets every good phone go to another carrier exclusively for a few years, and then it gets a version of it after it has become painfully obsolete.
hmm samsung memoir, htc touch pro 2, g1 and mytouch 3g and bb curve..
With any full touchscreen, it's all about the OS. Hardware specs and shitty implementation do nothing for me.
If it had Android, I'd be all over it.

just flicked through the user manual that is on the FCC site for this phone, and lo and behold, some of the icons are as follows.
3g available
HSDPA available
EGPRS available..
so, looks a bit more promising than just an Edge device...
agreed.. and i think a quick glance at the face facing camera of the phone will tell you its not just EDGE and that it supports video calling (e.g. 3G!)

The end of the manual on the FCC site indicates the model numbers for Satio as being Sony Ericsson U1i/U1a -- which is a pretty explicit mention of a North American variant!
of course it has to have 3G... now 900/2100MHz might be the EU version
will they name it Satio"a".. should follow the Cybershot line with the "a" suffix for AT&T basically
why you say ATT is lame...if it gets on ATT that will be perfect but i doubt it it will be sold unlock
Are Sony Ericsson sill insisting on not having any storage not even 4gb, it has 12 megapixel camera for god sake it needs internal storage.
Why bother when it accepts 32GB microSD cards?
You would have thought the FCC would use something more celubrious than an old PowerShot.

An unidentified source has confirmed a new line of Lyra measuring devices due out this winter. Lyra Germany has refused to officially comment on the rumors which have been circulating for months now. The source, who spoke with us on condition of anonymity, explained the decision to go with wood for their new line.
"Wood measuring devices have been done in the past, but they quickly grew out of favor with the coming of age of plastics. We feel we have gone as far as we can go with plastics and there has been a new wave of wood developments which have allowed us to do some incredible things that have not been done before with wood. The most obvious enhancement has been the addition of the millimeter marks."

No need to jailbreak. It runs S60 so it has theme support out of the box. I believe that Nokia make a free app for writing your own S60 themes.
the iphone's a good phone but i don't think its UI is *that* customizable...

The Satio is supposed to have the same popular OS as the Nokia N series phones, so it will be Symbian based. Hopefully they can get Android on it. I will certainly be getting this phone within the week or two of it's availability.
Thinking again about the userbility of this thing - surely it can't match the iPhone when it's up against the multi-touch screen and all that the apps for that bring?
I love the fact that some sites are stating free movie downloads for the SE - that IS a great thing to have ... as long as it outputs to TV in a decent res.
Ultimately - it may sway people from an "off the shelf iPhone" but once you jailbrake an iPhone I really don't think there is anything that beats it ... yet.

What the iPhone does after jailbreaking...Android can do before it.
And not to mention if you root the device...you just have total freedom.
Mix in the untampered apps that you can get whether rooted or not...I think your comment is kind of off.

I'm not sure I understand that as I didn't state any facts and my opinion is ... well it's my opinion!?
I have played with an Android device and guess what? I don't like it (that's my opinion too)
I should, however have said that really the killer stuff for me is the apps and specially the music ones - I don't believe that ANY Android device can compete on that level?

Playing and owning are two different things. You cant play with something then try to form a whole basis off the thing. That's ridiculous.
And what music apps can it not compete with? Last I checked...the top music apps are Imeem, Last.fm, and Pandora. Out of those three...Android currently has two and the third is in completion right now. =\
I just dont get what you're getting at. Once again...nothing personal...I just like people to clearly state their opinions are opinions, or explain with facts why their statement is valid.
And just a note...I speak on these phones having owned an iPhone, Android, and WinMo device.

I'm afraid I have to disagree with you there - having once been a product tester for both hard and software that is exactly what you do. You may not be capable of forming an idea of what is what after playing with something but don't suppose that everyone is the same as you.
RE: music apps - I concede that I wasn't clear enough there ... I am talking about real music apps. Beatmaker, Digidrummer, iShred etc. etc. Please show me something on he Android platform that competes with any of those.
No offence but you sound like you're one of those people that takes everything far too literally and sometimes likes to argue for the sake of arguing and that's fine but please don't be giving me lessons in how to transcribe an opinion and/or give feedback on technology.
I am no Apple fanboy (or whatever the term is these days) - if I'd liked the Android platform then I would own such a device.

The first comment (I'll let you look at it) did not SPECIFY a type of app did it? Mistake number one you made.
Next, a tester is just that...a TESTER. It someone who does the testing to make sure the game is up to par for consumer consumption. It does not constitute a certain product being better than the other factually. So your "that's what testers do is play with it" rebuttal is far off the mark. Mistake number two.
Last...I wasnt arguing. You chose to take it personal. You made a comment. They have a small button that says "reply" so I replied. You dont like comments...dont get on something like this and then take it personal.
You spoke on one specific type of app...and that's what you meant. Next time put it in your first comment...and your silly comments will go unnoticed just like you wanted. ;)
