Sony Ericsson Satio arrives at the FCC

Well well, it looks like the mythical Sony Ericsson Satio is soon to go from beautiful fever-dream to actual reality -- it's popped into the FCC database with test results on GSM 850 and 1900, otherwise known as EDGE. Yeah, that sort of sucks, but we're still holding out hope, since we don't know the full story -- it could be destined for a lame existence on AT&T, it could be sold unlocked, or it could be a Canadian or Latin American model. Seriously, though -- it's the Satio, and the government has one. You know what that means.

No need to jailbreak anything when it's Symbian. It's a bit unclear if this is Symbian^2 device or S60 5th edition device with lots of SE bling bling on.

iPhone UI is NOT customizable slide left and right and click on short cut...if you want custom UI only one that is great is WM base phone...android is getting their as well...but iPhone UI will always stay the same...and that wiget icy whatever is crap...not usuable.

If this is indeed anywhere close to compete vs the iPhone, it will do it, and will do it well..
The harware is strong as hell, the 12mpx camera is just a must on top end phones (iPhone fans settle with the shitty camera from their iPhone, cuz no matter what u prove to an Apple fan, their stuff will always be best).
External storage support is just a plus as well, hardware keys...man i love hardware keys, a lot of ppl do.
UI... lool iPhones UI is NOT customizable AT ALL! lol.. "Oh look i move icons arround!!"

Now I cant say that softwarewise this phone will be better than a iPhone, but the videos from the pre release model looked scary! as responsive or more thant the iPhones UI, and the screen looks way better.

But can`t talk until is FINALLY out.. right now its all shit talk, and stupid to compare it when it isnt even out. Also remeber that Apple has just one option to offer for u suckers, and wont make any better or different anytime soon, it will keep being the same phone plus updates.... sure, if aint broken dont fix it..... but what if its outdated???? Apple put a device with an amazing UI.. yet the UI features are still catching up, ppl just can seem to see it, cuz its an Apple device, and u all still get WOWED by the amazing marketting.

What SE is offering here.. is ONE MORE option, to all the ones that it has... soon releasing an Android device as well, it will have WinMo, Symbian, Android, and its own OS/firmwares to pick from.
For an all-around handset, thsi is pretty impresive, and for sure id pick it on top of a iPhone....

This is just me and my opinions tho, not expected for any of you to share.

Well im never defending one company or taking side with one company i owned a iTouch, iPhone 2G, and iPhone 3G that i barely touch...i have used symbian before and very excited about this phone and will most likely buy it when it drops...Im currently using Winmo phone Xperia and that device i would pick over iPhone any day...

Thing with Apple fan anything that comes out that they feel a threat they would jump in and say its a iPhone wanna be or its not better than a iPhone...well a 12mp camera shits on the iPhone camera...Apple do now how to brain wash their consumer and defend their product to the death...just my 2 cents

It's a german(?) ruler and it seems to be showing centimeter not inch(?) at the FCC(?).
Also it seems to be fabricated in the 1930's from the looks of it, weird stuff.
They should make some scifi show about the weird goings on at the FCC, something like 'fringe' perhaps.

Same good old garbage SonyEricsson have been selling for ages. Sure it has good screen and perhaps nice quality but underneath of that is a sucky OS (Symbian i think it is) and a sucky CPU/GPU.

And i rather bring a proper 5Mpixel camera then this it i really want to take pictures. All phone cameras suck, some more then others. iPhone camera does what it is suppose to for the snapshots so its enough for that purpose.

The Satio's specs may look great but there's no guarantee it won't get stripped when AT&T gets their hands on it. Look what happened when they launched the Sony C905a; after waiting for months, I went to the store only to find out that they'd taken away major features such as Wi-Fi, and even took the 2GB card out of the box and sold it separately. As a corporation they were as bad as those notorious 5th Ave. electronics sellers in NYC.

The iPhone is rubbish especially for the UK market. The UK market is driven by a few factors - first the camera quality, then text messaging and Multimedia messaging capability - anything less is stupid! Video calling as well is also a must for the UK market.

Its mad how the UK is far advanced for mobile techonolgy then America but i guess its due to the fact its much quicker and easier to roll out seeing as we are only a dinky dot of a country :P

In the UK its a shock if you have to buy your phone! Is this the same in USA?

A typical mobile contract in the UK is

Phone : FREE, Unlimited text messages & Multimedia messages, 600 any network any time minsfor about 35 quid per month on a 18 month contract. the Biggest mistake apple make in the UK is that the tariff's just are rubbish plus no one in the UK wants the iphone when it has a rubbish camera, has ONLY just been enabled to send MMS (how pre-historic is that please!!) And not even sure if you can Video Call on it?!? If you can't for the UK market once again thats pants!!! Hate the iPhone there are much much better touch screens out there! Satio looks to be quite popular when it lands in the next month in the UK.

I called Sony Ericsson about the release date for the Saito in America. They had no exact date. It was said to be released in September or October but according to them that is in another country. I wanna test this new phone out and i really hope it is as good as it seems. If anyone knows any other info please let me know. Thanks.
