am really happy caz of the $100 price cut. That means i might be able to get it in the near future now, but i really don't like the cheap design. Seriously Sony, first the ugly looking new PSP and now the squared PS3 ... a little trim and some good product name placement wouldn't have hurt :|
It was obvious that this was going to happen...See PS1,PS2 and now PS3, I prefer the good old clunky machines =) because when the slims come out it makes em look retro ^_^

The Slim, the price cut, 3.0 update, all awesome. SCE is *so* back.
BUT... They are Osborne-ing the previous model. Why on earth did they announce a price cut on the original model at the same time as the new model that will come out in two weeks for the same price? What they SHOULD have done was cut the price in July to drive up adoption among the non-tech-blog readers who had no idea of the coming Slim, flush the existing units out of the supply chain, THEN announce the slim version.
Oh well. Some smart bargain hunters are gonna be picking up unsold 80 gig units for some very nice prices in late September...

Because the slim looks like a cheap piece of crap, and it hasn't been out for years, who knows, it could end up like the 360 and fail on everyone.
