I bought my D5000 in August and it just stopped working yesterday. Nikon sent me a UPS label and I shipped it. Does anyone know that the recent turnaround time is?
@dressmeister I just received a camera back today. Total of 12 days, including shipping both ways. But get this: IT'S NOT MY CAMERA!!!!
They sent me back a different camera. Different S/N, the works. I really, really hope it's a new one and not someone else's refurbished. My SD card from the old camera is taped to the body, so I suspect it was intentional.
@dressmeister I'm on the phone with Nikon now. They have no idea where my camera went or why it was returned with a different S/N. The new camera seems brand new to the naked eye, and the S/N is 10,000 greater than my original S/N. So it certainly could be a new camera.
I don't quite understand why the turnaround time would be 12 days if they are simply replacing every D5000 that comes in.
"I'm a college student looking for a new laptop, but almost all of my media I receive digitally. I'm looking for a laptop, not a netbook, without an optical drive, and budget sensitive. The optical drive will just be a waste of space, when I can have thinner laptop. What's out there?"

Nikon will get a call tomorrow.
