PlayStation Home 1.3 will let you launch any game from inside the metaverse
Frankly, you've probably had enough PlayStation news to last you a bit, but just in case the PS3 Slim, firmware 3.0, and PSP Minis weren't enough, the company revealed today an update to Home. Like everything else it seems, version 1.3 is also due out in September, and in addition to things like in-store item previews, cameras, and other new objects, you'll now have the option to launch any game from inside Home itself. Some titles like MotorStorm and Far Cry 2 that fully support the universal game launching have their own special icons and multiplayer functionality, while others will simply open up to the main menu. We're interested in what integration those fully supported games might enable, but either way, that's still one less excuse for avoiding Home. Now if they could only do something about all those annoying avatars...

using a credit card you can do that
by wallet he means the money you reserve for playstation store purchases. sony doesnt go by points... you just deposit money from your account and thats just what they go by: exact cash. thing is... it requires specific incremental deposits (goes by 5.00 here in the U.S) so if you wanna buy something thats just 1.99... you need to take atleast 5 bucks for your card just to get it... and whats left just sits there when you dont intend on getting anything else. pisses me off too really
Agree strongly with #6. As for the rest, you seem to think that Sony knows or cares about making a decent media player. PSP was advertised as music and video on the go, and we all saw how great that turned out.
Everything about what you said is exactly what im constantly talking about with ony. Its like hey theres a bunch of really basic things that could overall improve the overall expirience. Don't they have testers for this kind of stuff?
Almost every single one of your points is valid, isnt obtrusive and all the details that when they are there its hey Hey cool.
Its Expected from a company as large an as overpromising as sony to have offered.. At Least by NOW!
Long ago are the days of throwing money at sony becasue consumer confidence was so high and said company was routinely releasing top notch products for a top notch price.
Seriously though, pretty good points all around!

#4 has been satisfied, i was watching a movie on my ps3 and accidentally bump into it, the movie does not need to be a blu-ray or even ona disc for that matter i think. works just like Netflix :)
a few comments:
- APP SUPPORT: ya more app would be awesome why do you think iphone is so successful more app please!!
- NETWORK MAPPING: my console is connected to a home server and anytime i want to access a file over the network, (and probably b/c i categorized them simply for the sake of organization), i have to literally go through 7-8 folders before i get to the list of files. so what im trying to say is having the ability to 'map network folders' would be very useful
- PS3 HOME: agreed with the playstation home, unless it's pre-launched as you turn on the console, i dont really see anything useful or convenient about it.. just more wait while loading scenes...
cheers
How is that dude squatting? This must be shopped, theres no squat command in home!!
No, no... the command being used is the 'footmirror' command; hes just fastening it to his sneakers. Have you seen what is next to him?
Maybe now they'll add more bowling alleys so I don't have to wait 20 minutes to play.
Those two guys must be gay (not that there's anything wrong with that), as the one guy is too busy squatting down and not looking up her dress and the other one is right behind her and not even close to looking at her ass. Where's all the virtual straight guys?
Clearly the standing dude is trying to "throw a shape" as the kids call it these days, but has failed dismally nd is being studiously ignored by both girls.
As for the crouching dude; he's looking at a rflective surface. You do the math...
This will be nice if I ever get a PS3.
home is the biggest flop... it was however overtaken by killzone 2 recently
i think the squatter is trying to look up her skirt... he using the corner of the eye trick
the other one tho... he is most def a battyman
The biggest problem they should try to fix is the loading between levels, there are numerous ways to 'stream' the area's so you don't have to wait (or maybe only have to wait if you don't have the area on you HDD).. I find it a waste of time when you have to wait only to go to the centersquare (yeah I know you can use favorites, but I'd rather walk there)..
Also when you select 'fullscreen' on a 'movie' in home it really isn't fullscreen, why can't they really make it fullscreen (especially with trailers)..
Home is a great idea, but Sony hasn't implemented it well...
Also, can't they make an option for the damn message where it says you shouldn't turn of the PS3 when the 'X' is showing, how about only showing that message once per user, or at least let me be able to turn it off, it's annoying having to click just to get to the next screen..
I need to do more exploring of the Playstation home. I normally haven't used it very much. http://www.gamesncs.com/rd_p?p=191273&t=9528&a=22699-engadget&gift=22699
Wow - Home isn't dead yet? Does anyone out there really care anymore?
