Razer adds a dozen keys to Naga MMO mouse, intros rollable gaming surface
Who says MMO gamers are alienated by everyone accessory makers? Across the pond in Germany, Razer has stepped up to serve the needs of basement-dwelling World of Warcraft players with its first dedicated MMO mouse. The Naga, as it's so beautifully called, gives users a dozen customizable buttons on the side in order to take some of those keyboard macros (or just the 1 - 12 number keys) and put them within thumb's reach. The mouse (shown in video after the break) also ships with a robust software suite that can save unlimited profiles and program "thousands of different in-game commands for each character you choose to play." In case that's not enough to get your juices flowing, the company also outed an all new gaming surface (the Megasoma) that can be rolled up and tucked away for easy transport between LAN parties. Check the read link for all the nitty-gritty details, and get ready to hand over $79.99 for the critter and $49.99 for the mouse when they ship worldwide later this year.

if you can't wait to buy a mouse that's like that, you should try getting this mouse, that was made specifically for WoW

So was this, just not WOW branded. The SteelSeries one is a POS. Shame, Steel used to be the most exclusive brand of them all.
Lefties need not apply? Ah well, they still make lots of other fantastic ambidextrous mice to choose from! :P
This mouse looks like it could be pretty amazing for WoW. I know I personally never have enough side mouse buttons as 4 fingers on my left hand are taken up by movement hotkeys (WASD formation and spacebar). That leaves my pinky for modifier buttons (ctrl, shift). I currently use the N52te and with this I'll never have a problem creating efficient hot keys that don't affect my movement.
You should try using the n52te's Dpad for movement (along with the mouse) and freeing up the buttons for abilities. I wish Belkin/Razer had come out with a right-handed N52te with a thumb-ball instead of Dpad..
Having 12 buttons on the side of a mouse is.. counter-productive. You're pressing AGAINST the device you're trying to move..
If you're interested in other methods to set up the n52te for WoW, check out http://www.youtube.com/user/worldctzen.
well the mouse has 17 buttons in total... -- WTF 17??? I can do only with 4 (left, righclick, next song, previous song) but I have 8 buttons on my mouse so thats 4 without use... But 17??? WTF ??? [going crazy]
I think that in few years we will have a keyboard in both hands - only one keyboard will double as a mouse--- just imagine sliding a keyboard across the table, just to get from recycle bin to start menu... :D :D
Will it improve my mine-digging sessions?
this is possibly the only way i could ever EVER roll a healer! unless it's a single-healing-spell pally ofc
LOL, they say you can use every button with ease but the buttons 9-12 are at the but of the mouse right where your palm is.... YEAAAAH that's comfortable, let me bend my thumb backwards to get that button :P
I think this would be good for the non gamer, if it would allow me to program normal keyboard commands into the mouse buttons itself, my regular mouse has every button assigned the way I want already but could use more. Sadly its not wireless, which is a must for me
he is way to happy for this gaming mouse,
haha wow player

Geez, stereotype much? Way to insult a pretty large chunk of your readers. I guess it could be worse, you could have referred to us as 'nerds' too. That would really have stung.
Why do people think MMO's the moment they see alot of buttons? Fuck MMO's!! There are so many other uses that are actually useful.
Sexy mouse BTW! Quite an amazing feat fitting so many buttons on a mouse, and having it still be comfortable.
MMOs require easy, quick and intuitive access to a large range of commands, at least if the player wants to be effective at their class. Few other games require as many different buttons to be under your fingertips.
Playing a hunter in WoW, if you want to be really useful to your group, not just another pew-pew, macro-mashing damage dealer, you need to be ready to use any one of about 20 different abilities at a moment's notice. Scrabbling around to find the right key, or using non-intuitive sequences will usually mean you missed an opportunity.
Still, you have a great point. Long after I stopped playing WoW I still love mouses with lots of buttons on them. I wish that Razer had been available when I was still into WoW and other MMOs though.
Regardless I'll still likely buy it since it just looks like a damned good mouse and there's ALWAYS a use for more buttons.
While the N52te looks way slicker than the regular N52, in my opinion I've found I actually like the original a lot more than the tournament edition though I dont use the N52 to MMOs, just rts games.
Makes me want to cry :|
In a bad way.
When my MS Optical mouse died on me (after a good 5 years of faithful service) I decided to be nice to myself and splurge on a "nice" gaming mouse... a Razer Copperhead to be exact.
Needless to say, within 2 months the scroll wheel died, never to return. I've tried everything.
Even before the wheel died I've had nothing but trouble with the drivers for it as well. I've never seen such poor drivers for a mouse before.
I'm taking it back tomorrow to exchange it for a G5 or G9x.
Awesome! I don't play MMOs, but this mouse is a godsend for arrow key FPS players with all the thumb buttons.
Why has noone said anythign about the 50$ mousepad?
