Get your Windows 7 Release Candidate while you can (that means today)
Been meaning to try out Windows 7 for free before taking the plunge on a final retail copy? Then you might want to get your act together, as today is the last day that you'll be able to download the Windows 7 Release Candidate direct from Microsoft itself. If you can spare a few minutes, however, we might suggest first checking out our Windows 7 install guide to get a taste of what you're in for, and, of course, our full Windows 7 review, which is quite possibly the next best thing to actually using it.
Update: We're already seeing a few issues with the download page, so anyone that's lucky enough to get a download link should probably jump on it while they can.

Says downloads are no longer available to me.
Hey raz-dwa-trzy is that the RC or RTM version of windows 7?
Of course its rtm.
Is that even legal?
Why not, you are downloading clean iso, without product keys or any cracks.
And (as previously mentioned ) you can legally rearm windows and use it for 120days without activation.

Refresh the Product Key page a couple times and a download link will appear. Wait a couple minutes though, I almost have mine done."
you are my savior.... i didnt tought would be that easy...
Neither did I- I was loading up on keys by hitting refresh- a trick I learned with the RC- and all of a sudden, waitaminute... works for both 32- and 64-bit. Sometimes the bugs work in our favor lol.
Um I might already be running rtm
Love going to school for software engineering, all the free MS software I could ever want, including the RTM of Windows 7 Professional :)
I have been using the RC 7100 build for months at home and i have put it on my work lappy recently and i have no hardware issues at all. This has to be the smoothest install that i have done. Front the back The best windows build to date.
And one of the best OS that i have used....... btw i love OS X but i want them to open it to the non mac public... In my mind i think that would be the way for them to gain a real market share.
Doing what you suggest would be a good way to make Apple go bankrupt. Apple is a hardware company, not a software company. If you could legally install OS X onto any computer you want, there wouldn't be much incentive to buy Macs any more. Without the income from Macs, Apple's revenue would drop like a rock.
This has already been tried. There were Mac clones already, and they caused Apple to hemorrhage money, they completely cannibalized Apple's own hardware sales. It's a bad idea.
You make a very good point, that i did not consider. I guess i am searching for a way around a company that claims to be a hardware company but the only thing that truly have made the the Form parts of the product. These days hardware wise they do not differ from the pc at all. That they choose to mark up almost 300% for some of the hardware options.
Let them make the "mac hardware", raise the price of the OS on other platforms to make some kind of a profit. And i think that the I pod will keep them afloat for a long time to come.
I guess that is the way that i see it, I don't claim to be right it's just my opinion. (and i want to use the OS but i can't find an affordable option)
@ Zak "Doing what you suggest would be a good way to make Apple go bankrupt. Apple is a hardware company, not a software company. If you could legally install OS X onto any computer you want, there wouldn't be much incentive to buy Macs any more."
So you admit that Mac hardware adds little to no value, but you still claim Apple is a "hardware company." If the only value it adds is in its software product, how is it not a software company? And how weak Apple's position must be if simply selling OS X to anyone who wants to use it, perhaps at a higher price to people who just want to buy it outright and use it on a non-Apple computer, will cause it to go bankrupt.
OMG how cant everyone here not know about mydigitallife.info?
Whoa there, Cap'n Spam, watch those double negatives.
from the Microsoft i downloaded the build 7100 (64) why its says in other pages the las build its the 7600 or higher?
Because MS doesn't release every build. Build 7600 is the RTM which was leaked and will be sold in stores later, so MS won't give that to you for free.
No more downloads available for me either. I was able to retrieve a key though, so I might have to get one from other means.
I had a copy that I downloaded a while ago, but it is corrupted. :(
I will be using the RTM soon as well. Yay for being a computer programmer (just starting on a associates degree in that, anyways) and having access to MSDNAA to download the RTM.
Already preordered 7Home from Amazon UK for £65.
I'm looking forward to the new Media Center, hopefully it won't be as sluggish when used through my 360.
