SlingPlayer Mobile 1.1 for iPhone picks up App Store approval
That sweet little update to SlingPlayer Mobile for iPhone that Sling submitted for Apple's perusal about a week and a half ago is now approved and available -- version 1.1, as it were -- bringing native DISH Network navigation, improved widescreen support, and improved response times throughout the app. Separately, Sling has updated us on the 3G-compatible flavor of the app that they've submitted for consideration outside of the US, but so far, no dice -- the company hasn't heard back from Apple, which means it's all WiFi-only for the moment. Wouldn't want to saturate those pricey little 3G cells, now, would we?

this, if implemented with the new found HD ability in the prior article, and 3g, would, for the first time, make me want an Iphone.
given the post below, i have changed my mind.
...You could buy a WinMo phone. SlingPlayer works great on Sprint, though that is the only good thing I can say about WinMo 6.1
Bottom line...
Apple iPhone is superior..
AT&T, ROGERS, and all other networks are SHITE!
WFT are we paying those system access fees for anyway!
COMMUNISM FTW!
this pisses me off so much,. watching over 3G is the only way anybody would want to use this......stupid att
AHAHAH
You nubs pay for 3G capped service and you cant even say how you can use it.
STOP BUYING THINGS LET BIG BISINESS FALL!!!
EVERYONE GET PREPAID CANCEL YOUR LINES!
SPEAK WITH YOUR DOLLARS!
Colbert says "Give me 3G or give me Android!"
MLB at bat streams every Single MLB game over edge and 3g... What a joke
If the 3G-capable version gets approved for Canada, I just might buy a Slingbox ...
If Apple is smart, they will reject the 3G streaming version that is outside the US. If they were to approve that version, it would just give the FCC more ammunition about Apple being in bed with AT&T. It kinda makes it obvious.... if it was not already
For the low low price of $29.99...
Would it kill them to put in a "Power" button for the remote? ... like seriously.. it's a remote. How long have remotes been around for? And why don't they have it..
I don't know what is so hard about making a "Fill Screen" option. The new stuff is better, but still needs some work.
HIIIIIIII
Do they call you The Squid because you have one big eye or shoot ink? BYE!!!!!
Who CAAARRRREEESS!!!
Where the F@$K is THE MMS THEY PROMISED US BY THIS SUMMER?!??!! D:
ill pass
I just want the damn Sling Guide app alone for my iPhone, cause I have dish network, and no slingbox. I like using my iPhone as a remote, however the web interface of sling guide SUCKS!
At least you US guys have this software...
I just want to watch my SlingBox while I am on the toilet using my iPhone... Would SOMEONE please release this software to the Australia iTunes store?
This is the only piece of software I am thinking about obtaining via other means because Apple or Sling or WHOEVER don't want to take my money... Here... $$$ Take it! I know it's AU$, but it's still worth something!
I would want to have this someday...
Too bad I've been enjoying this app (For free...as I was an original Slingbox purchaser) for years on my WinMo phone........
Given that I can run 10 apps at once (alongside Slingbox Mobile)......and I can send MMS messages and do Remote Desktop connections....
Why would I want an iPHONE again?
Bull shit! WinMo simply choked just running its stinky IE browser, let alone running 10 apps!
WinMo has already died if you aren't aware! Check the latest marketshare! All handset
makers are moving away from WinMo! HAHAHAHA! LOL
Running SlingPlayer 1.1 on 3G on a jailbroken iPhone 3GS in France (bought from the iTunes UK store.) All good :)
'Fill screen' option seconded. And a power button on the remote would also be nice.
Orb FTW!!!
When I tether I use about 1 Mbit/s... still don't understand why I'm now allowed to save on my dataplan and stream in lower quality, directly on my iPhone. To me it seems that Apple want the data traffic to grow.
