Duracell announces myGrid wireless charger, WildCharge feels a little KIRFed
No, someone didn't just Photoshop the Duracell logo on a WildCharge pad -- this actually is the newest product from the ubiquitous battery maker. Available this October, myGrid kits (including charger and one power sleeve) will be available for Nokia, Motorola, and Blackberry handsets, as well as the many flavors of Apple's iPhone and iPod touch. No price yet, but you'll know as soon as we do.
Update: Of course, this is probably the product of some sort of licensing deal -- but you'd think someone at WildCharge or Duracell would have mentioned it, right?

I'm such a lazy slob I can't plug in my cellphone. That's all this makes me think.
What a STUPID system! Anyone look at the owner's guide? Who wants to put the duracell Grid hardware on their phones???? MAJOR FAIL!!!
I agree with the numerous comments above that I have no intention of clamping that bulbous adapter onto my Blackberry. The loss of the USB port is also no bueno.
But if they could build this into a case I might be interested. The technology seems simpler than inductive technology and probably easier and cheaper to implement.
I guess I wonder how it would react to coins or paper clips falling on the grid, would that short it out?
So putting that hideously large clamp device on your phone so you can lay it on the flat piece to charge wirelessly as opposed to plugging a cable into your phone and setting down on the counter is better how?
This totally looks like the wireless charger for the PS3 controller
