Samsung YP-R1 get first unboxing, approving review
You should already be familiar with (or able to guess) the YP-R1's specs and pricing, so we'll just head straight to the good stuff. Our colleagues at MovePlayer handled a pink sample of the device and liked its 720 x 480 uncompressed video playback, slim casing, DJ utility (your use of which will be inversely proportional to your age), and the host of extra features like FM radio, voice recording and photo organizer. Their one major gripe related to scrolling around in landscape mode, but all in all they found it a very competent, sophisticated-looking entry into the PMP market.

Another piece of poop for the masses..
Zund HD FTW!
Dude... again?
Except The Zune HD won't play avi files or have much codec support
FAILLL
don't get me wrong, i thought i would be buying one as soon as i heard about it, but thanks for nothing MSOFT
he's talking about the zund HD, it's a totally different device that has great codec support.
yepp, that sucks.
hey guys tell me.........which PMP do you think...........Sony Walkman X1000 / Microsoft's Zune HD ..............has the better sound quality..........
$180 for 8GB? Don't make me laugh
dunno about ZuneHD but Sony X's SQ is stellar
i heard that it cancels 98% ambient noise is it true..........
the iPod nano sold like hotcakes at 150$ for 8gb, and it has a fraction of the features this thing has.
they SOLD it (in the past), but currently Apple will not be able to sell a 8gb for the same price.
Isn't the screen too glossy?... and i hope it doesn't just come in pink!
I bought my Archos 604 to watch movies on but I have to admit that it is FANTASTIC as a portable photo album to bring to relative's gatherings.
A PMPs capability to be used as a Photo album is a great selling point although I prefer the Archos 600 series 4.3" screen to the smaller screened iPhone, etc.
I have a P3, and I must say that it is great! I think that the M1 will be a better choice then the R1, but the R1 still looks pretty good. Samsung PMPs FTW!
The Walkman X is consistently considered the best sounding audio player thus far and I have heard it first hand and I can say it sounds amazing :) My audio player background is Creative, Apple and Cowon. The current Zune is considered a good sounding player already and most audiophiles or people that care about sound quality somewhat rank it consistently higher than iPods.
It just depends on what you like most in your player dude. For some it'll be sound quality above all else while for others it might be something else but if your main concern is sound quality I sincerely doubt the Zune HD will sound as good as the Walkman X but the price is a bit high.
Argh! I clicked on the reply button...whatever. Anyways, this response was meant for basshunter.
lol comment system fail.
thanks...........ok i got it.........x1000 is the best
OMG YEPP?
I had a yepp yeaaaarrrsss ago. brings back memories of it.
SEO TAIJI OKKKKAYYY!!!
# 2.7-inch WQVGA (400×240) touchscreen
# RMVB, MPEG-4, WMV, H.264, Divx, Xvid
# MP3, WMA, Ogg, FLAC, AAC
So what's with that silly '720 x 480 uncompressed video playback', yeah most any cheap thing can play that uncompressed, but it's irrelevant too since the screen is 400x240
Talk about misrepresentation, deliberately making a silly statement in the hope some people misunderstand, that's low yo.
looks better than i expected
