Wiipod modder shoves an MP3 player in his Wiimote, calls it a day
Readers, don't act like you're appalled that this mod consists entirely of an old iPod shuffle shoved into the battery compartment of a Wiimote game controller. If anything, you should be amused that this mod consists entirely of an old iPod shuffle KIRF shoved into the battery compartment of a Wiimote game controller. See for yourself after the break.

haha nice!
down rated. This is not funny, nor is it nice.
"down rated"? where do you think are? this is engadget. you get and article and you like it. ain't no down rating around these parts.
Would have been better it the ipod was routed to play out of the wiimote speaker or, it made out of a new ipod shuffle because you can't pause it when the ipod is in the case, unlike the new one, you have an in line remote
I think the only way it could be worse is if the iPod was just duct taped to it. Still, I appreciate his laziness. Love this.
would of been better if he could of made it work without filling up the battery compartment......then you could jam out while at wii sports resort
sorry, rob, but what the hell is with people writing "would of" instead of "would have"? does anyone else find it sad that it's so common?
Unfortunately, it's a misspelling that's passed into common usage, but it's still incorrect. People use it because that's what it sounds like.
Nucular!!
Same with "It is quarter to eleven"!
Neee Noooo Neee Nooo Neee Nooo ... It's the grammer police.
Don't forget about "him or her" or "he or she," which is technically grammatically incorrect and awkward to use, but thanks to PC it's now "correct." The old usage being just "him" or "he," the masculine form being sexually neutral.
Also, proper usage of commas and " "'s, those really piss me off personally. Please stop doing this Engadget/Joystiq. NOTE: I don't like English a whole lot.
@Sachin: Good observation! I was about to acks the same thing!
Hey Sachin, I got your back and everything, but you have forgotten to capitalize the s in "sorry" and the d in "does", and to add the word "to" between "is" and "with".
What the hell is to with people? How does that make it better?
@Sachin
So sad....what's this world coming to?
Dont forget the importance of capitalization...Consider the following sentence: i helped my uncle jack off a horse today... ;)
Oh dear god, Sachin, thanks a lot! I almost started to think I was mistaken! But I couldn't HAVE found any proof, nor disproof of this, sadly, common usage.
Now I'm sure, so thanks again for that ;)
chaosdivine, capitalization, noncapitalization... shouldn't it be:
"i helped my uncle, jack, off a horse today."
@Peter: But does it go to eleven?
No, that changes the sentence. He's using Uncle Jack as a proper name. Therefore, his lack of commas is entirely correct. Although even with proper capitalization, the sentence still has multiple meanings since he could have helped Uncle Jack kill a horse.
@loocas
No you wouldn't need the commas around "jack" because he isn't addressing Jack. He's simply stating that he helped his Uncle Jack off a horse. He would have to be speaking to a man named Jack and say, "I helped my uncle off a horse today, Jack." or something like that. :P
DUDES!
it's "Today I helped my uncle jack off a horse!"
haha, that's so funny, cos today I totally helped my Uncle Jack jack off a horse... and then off it.
@KR3
Sir, you're under arrest. It's "grammar" police.
JohnTitor: good point. blame facebook, aim, and texting. and me, i guess. still, capitalizing the first word of a sentence has never made it harder to understand.
the other one, i'm not so sure about. "what the hell is TO with people..." doesn't seem to make sense. is it just because it's a much older rule that's become grossly overlooked? or was i right?
Mabye he modded the Shuffle to include a Mini-USB port?
Nah, didn't think so.
Mabye, maybe, meh.
a bit impractical to have to open the battery case just to adjust playback/switch songs.
but cool nonetheless. next step-have wii remote buttons & accelerometer control audio. swing forward to fast forward, swing back to rewind, etc.
and keep spinning to keep fast forwarding/rewinding.
Finally a use for that headphone controlled 4g Shuffle!
I bet those* headphones sound better than Apples.
That´s not hard to achieve. Even cheap Sennheiser earbuds for 10 bucks sound better than the ones Apple sells for 80 bucks.
i've seen dollar store headphones that perform better than apple's. consider that.
No condom and no Wii-motion plus? That's a fail in my book.
Pretty Sick
This is LOL.
But I'd rather a mod to have MP3 player + WORKING Wii remote.
This is a mod? He cut a hole in the battery cover. I know you said not to be appalled, but, really?
The article should be titled "Moron Turns $40 Controller Into Case for $4 MP3 Player"
I would be impressed if he had managed to add buttons to the current ipod shuffle. Because then it would be super awesome in it's ridiculousness.
At least if he had used a current shuffle, he would have been able to use the device without opening the battery cover of the Wiimote.
@Giroro
That's exactly what I was thinking.
I love to look at KIRF Apple products and laugh, how pathetic....
True. They're cheaper AND better.
And yet the iTards keep buying Apple.
right......
WTF!!!
Is this called a 'mod'?
It's a slow day at the 'gadget.
no, this is not a mod. this is literally 3 seconds with a drill.
Weak.
WiiPod Shuffle? Do the songs change when I shake it?
