I've been reading books in an iPod Touch for over a year. Prior to that, it was on my Palm TX, and prior to that it was on a Palm Tungsten. I've read probably 60 full length novels (Davinci Code, etc) on these three devices. I read at night, during the day, and on the iPod I can also read comfortably outside. The iPod Touch has a sensor that boosts the contrast automatically when there is a lot of sunlight and I can read my ereader books just fine. Compared to e-ink devices, with my iPod I can also read in bed while my wife is sleeping, which is when I do most of my pleasure reading anyway.
To me the advantage of e-ink is the battery life, not the ability to read outside. As for reading on a small screen, has never bothered me. A full-size iTablet would be nice, but frankly at my age I don't find the screen size an issue.
The Galaxy Tab 10.1, much like its Limited Edition sibling that we reviewed last month, is ever-so-slightly thinner than the iPad 2, a slate that most sane individuals (and competitors, for that matter) would confess is the market leader today.
