GSMA backpedals, changes Telus' HSPA launch window to October
We can imagine the phone call now:
"GSM Association, how can I help you?"
"Yo, this is Telus... where'd you hear September for our HSPA launch? What are you smoking?"
"But we..."
"Yeah, 'but you' nothing. October, broham... you heard it here first. Telus out." (click)
[Thanks, Alex]

Hahaha classic phone conversation.
Gets funnier every time i read it over.
So I'm guessing this is going to delay Telus' ability to offer the iPhone to Canadian customers? I guess Telus customers will have to wait.
Sorry? whatcha talking about. This HSPA release date is farrr sooner then what was previously quioted.
And for the record, bell and telus are switching on the same day.
And its all suppose to go down a couple days before Halloween!!
And I still doubt bell or telus will get the iphone... at least untill next summer sometime, these things just dont happen over night.
Bell and Telus won't get the iPhone or any HSPA-only phone until their HSPA service covers a decent percentage of their wireless footprint, and that won't be for years. It has nothing to do with business deals or exclusivity. Think of Bell's biggest wireless slogan "Canada's largest 3G network" - they're not exactly going to flip that on its head by selling someone an HSPA phone that works in only 4 cities now are they?
first for the iphone we don't know if rogers has a exclusive deal, and for the coverage, telus expect nationwide coverage in 2010. They have more than the double of people working on that network. They recruited people all the year. And finally they just have to upgrade their terminal to use the new technology and reajust theirs antennas.
Well, it's October 3rd.... where are the new phones.....?
