Blu-Link universal remote for PS3 is your ticket to weight gain
Sick of all the physical effort involved in shuffling multiple remotes? Back in the day (that is, until yesterday) if you wanted to use a universal remote control with your PS3 you had to get some sort of IR-to-Bluetooth adapter, like the one available for the Logitech Harmony. SMK, however, is looking to change that (and reinforce your inertia in the process) with Blu-Link. This bad boy combines a Bluetooth PS3 controller with a standard infrared universal remote. Other features include advanced learning (for gleaning button assignments from your other remotes) and support for more than 400 brands of standard and HDTV televisions and flatscreens, 150 VCR brands, 200 Satellite Receiver models, 100 Cable TV Receiver brands, 50 DVR models and 200 home theater surround sound systems. Available September 1st for $49.95. HIt the read link for more info.

Add in DirecTV RF control and you have a winner.
Picked one up - they're on amazon for $47 shipped.
Concerning powering on PS3 - I don't think any remotes can do that. From the manual:
Sony does not offer a dedicated power off button on
their controller. The Power button on Blu-Link™ simulates
the menu sequence used to manually shut down the
PS3™.
Anyone know if this will work with the uverse at&t dvr/tv combo boxes?
this remote is awesome
if you're rushing to buy one of these simply to power on/off your new slim PS3, check your TV first to see if it's compatible with the "bravia link" system which can control the slim via HDMI. i have a toshiba LCD TV, and that interacts with the PS3 via the HDMI connection that sony seems to proclaim is an exclusive feature. i love when something unexpected like that happens.
It doesn't quite do what a Harmony remote can, but it does do what it says it can.
Logitech really rubbed me the wrong way with coming out with an adapter that IMO costs WAY too much instead of simply giving us a $100-$150 remote with bluetooth built in.
Anyways, I may pick this up as its simple and cheap and I already sold my Harmony remote
I just ordered 2 for my 2 PS3's from Amazon for less than 100.00 shipped.
I picked up the one on Amazon too :)
Guys, if you are serious about your home theaters, get a logitech harmony one and either the nyko usb adapter or the logitech ps3 adapter. I have the nyko and get every function I want out of the ps3 except power on, which I don't need anyway since I have to put the bluray disk in the machine anyway.
There is no reason why this can't be a cheaper alternative. Many people don't need all the jazz associated with a Harmony remote. Spending $50 a being done with it is a great option for those not willing to spend $150+ on their remotes
Bought this remote and I can not believe how perfect it is!
It has replaced six remotes. It even learned my AC window unit IR signals so I can control it as well. I never used a universal remote because my receiver has an on and off button, so no remote was ever able to turn it off. Now it is so simple to just learn the IR signal and BAM! it works.
This remote is worth $100!
I know one present I am getting my brother and parents for Christmas
