Sony Ericsson's Aino smartphone smiles for the FCC's cameras
We've already seen Sony Ericsson's new Aino smartphone (and its wireless headphones) pass through the FCC once before, but we've only just now been treated to the first proper photo shoot of the device, including the usual peek under the hood. What's more, the new filing also offers yet more (fairly indisputable) evidence of the existence of a US 3G version of the phone, and those interested can get another look at the phone's manual if you missed it last time around. Hit up the read link below to dive in.

Isn't measuring stuff supposed to start from 0 or something?
Nice product placement, FCC.
Well I hope the people at the FCC know math, so it doesn't matter where they start... then again, they are american.
They are not exactly Anal, I mean Aino about it.
@solarpos
You know, for a horrible joke, that made me laugh out loud pretty damn hard.
Well done sir.
Why use a German measuring ruler? Are the US ones not approved by FCC?
Here's a video with a good look and review on the Sony Aino Smartphones that are coming out, or are already out.

Why doesn't Sony make Verizon phones. IT'S NOT FAIR.
Because in the global market CDMA is a total minority. GSM, HSPA, and LTE are the way everything is going. WiMAX, I have a feeling, is going to be a domestic thing only also.
They have Wimax in Russia. HTC brought out a phone that came out only in Russia that didn't have 3g and instead had Wimax.
So at least Wimax isn't an America only thing.
CDMA though has got to go. I would love to go to Verizon or Sprint but the phone selection in the States is atrocious at best. So I'm stuck with T-Mobile in Chicago which kinda sucks.
Isn't the Aino a featurephone?
Yeah - Engadget apparently has no clue what a smartphone is. First they call the Nokia X6 a featurephone in the morning, now this is said to be a smartphone.
Embarrasing for a techblog. Really.

Looks like it took some cues from recent BlackBerrys.
that ruler isnt helping american manufacturing companies.
Are you Irfan from Irfanview??????????!!!!
Call me when it has a 3.5mm jack.
So much for a "media" phone...
true, but the free wireless headset and dock wins me :)
It has even better (or worse to some) than that, it has a bluetooth 3.5mm adapter.
Guess what the manual has stated, this phone is using micro sd, so even sonly is ditching its own m2 format.
anyone know what service providers will carry this sucker? i know AT&T has a lot of Sony Ericsson phones and i'm hoping they get the Aino
Guess what the user manual (part 1 and page 13!) has stated, this phone is using micro SD, which means even Sony is ditching its own m2 format.
A German ruler
..and swedish/japanese phone with finnish name
pun intended?
