You shouldn't judge the TV off of "silly features"...if you did, you wouldn't buy one. How ridiculous are the "widgets" offered on most high-end tvs right now? I was just researching and viewing TVs at a high-end store because I need to replace a stolen TV, and if you like LCD (obviously if you prefer the "plasma" look, this is not for you) this year's Mitsubishis are fantastic. This was right next to the Samsung B750, same settings, and there was no comparison. I stepped back and was able to view it in the middle of two very high-end plasmas (samsung860 and Panasonic G15 or something) and I couldn't take my eyes of the Mitsubishi. And SD content? Forget about it...there was no comparison, so much better (detail wise) on the Mitsubishi.
I tend to be a viewer that likes the "pop" of an LCD as opposed to the muted "natural" look of the plasma, so that's just a personal preference. In the LCD world, I think Mitsubishi just made incredible strides against Samsung and Sony for the top spot. I made the purchase on picture quality (and control...unmatched)...and didn't even factor in the ridiculous sound disparity between the TVs.
