Ouch on that d0mth0m comment. I think the camera is a great idea, given storage and internet access ... it could be like a phone cam on steroids ... more capability to intelligently make photo adjustments, organize and upload.
I'd hate to see the Beatles music being an exclusive (to any one company) but yeah, it'd definitely be good for Apple.

Honestly, not sure if I'm excited to see what they have up their sleeves. I am in the market for a new pmp, however the Zune will probably get my dollars.
In all honesty, I'm not really interested in a camera built in and if its true, seems like a bit of a gimmicky feature.
What would win me over to a new ipod would be .flac support, oled screen, higher quality DAC.
I know flac will never happen, but its annoying when all of my cd rips are applelossless and even if I go to the Zune, I'll have to ditch most of my library.
A camera in a device you carry everywhere a gimmick? Not to mention apps that take advantage of one. GPS would be a nice upgrade to the iPod Touch...
Zune HD is enticing with it's oled screen hd radio tuner, etc. I just don't see it competing until it has its own successful app store.

I've already got a camera built into my blackberry. Why would I use one in my ipod?
If they can give me a compelling reason, then I'm all ears, but I've never shot very many photos with any of my camera phones in the past.
GPS would be nice, but I think most people have dedicated GPS devices already, so not really sure if its a must have feature.
App store is nice, but I'm sure that other platforms will have the 'must have' apps like facebook, etc.
I was looking the Zune HD as well- until I found out that it doesn't have a Bluetooth radio (so no A2DP)...
Now I am waiting to see if there is a price drop on the iPod Touch- and a camera/GPS addition would be cool too.
Why would anyone want GPS on their iTouch? without 3G, the iTouch is useless for navigation with their built-in-WIFI-only, DUH

Your comment makes no sense since no dedicated GPS device has 3G--in fact they don't have any type of cellular radio inside of them. The iPhone does use its cell radio to help with location assist, but that doesn't mean you need 3G to have GPS.

It's not a dedicated card but it's definitely able to hold its own. As an owner myself, I am quite pleased with it. I have used the machine extensively since their release (was it June?) and haven't hit a time I wish the graphics were more powerful.
I can play ~2 year old games on it (Halo 2, AOE III) with maxed out graphics and it doesn't stutter. Of course, it won't run crysis, but that's not what it's made for.
How could I forget, you guys only post 10 apple articles with the plug per day.

As Apple products have gone more mainstream, I've gone the other way. Apple-formatted music, bloated software, self-important user base...think I'll pass on this event. The Zune looks better and better, and if their 4.0 software is anything as good as Win7, it'll be a painless purchase.
You're an idiot. Apple formatted music? Are you talking about MP4, which is a universal open standard? That's the format that Apple uses on the iTunes store. You want to try again? Are you dense? Apple always reduces the price of their products when they do spec bumps. For example, they're going to drop the price across the whole iPod line to bring it down to Zune pricing, in addition to bringing out a 64GB Touch.

64GB iPod Touch w/ camera and I'll be happy :)

At LEAST 64GB itouch is what I want. The camera could be nice but that won't be a deal breaker for me. I've been using my iPod touch 5.5g 30GB for 3 or 4 years now and the only reason I have not upgraded to the iTouch is because of it's capacity. My 30GB ipod is FULL and I don't even have everything on it. Getting a 64GB or even better, a 128GB ipod Touch would be the deciding factor on me getting an ipod touch.
It won't be 128GB because they can only fit two chips into a Touch, and currently only the 32GB chips have come down in price enough to be feasible. This is also why the iPhone only goes up to 32GB, because the iPhone can only hold one chip vs. two chips in the Touch.
If the iTouch matches the Zune HD with an OLED screen and similar battery life, as well as pricing for 16GB, then I'll go for it. Otherwise, I'll just go with the Zune HD and hope they get a decent app store, if they don't, then ah well... I'll still be satisfied.

I could see them phasing out the Classic model in lieu of much bigger iPod Touches. That plus cameras in the Nano and Touch. The Nano will only take still photos while the Touch will take video too. I also think we'll see iTunes 9 with some of the UI changes they put in Quicktime X on Snow Leopard plus the social networking integration from Last.fm and Facebook. Nothing crazy but still cool. Thars be muh predicktions.

I remember last year Mr Blurrycam found the new Nano in its completed form about a month beforehand, and the rumour mill has been a lot quieter this time around.

I have read rumors that the iTouch will be updated with more storage, a camera, and GPS. The storage and camera are pretty much confirmed but I haven't heard anything about the GPS in a while. Has this rumor been successfully debunked?
