Video: Samsung I5700 Galaxy Lite running Android, keepin' it classy
Well, what do we have here? Looks like someone's got their hands on Samsung's low-cost, Android-packin' I5700 Galaxy Lite. And don't you worry -- the fine folks at ai.rs blog have assured us that the rave-tastic green battery cover will be replaced by something a little less garish when this bad boy goes into production. Otherwise, it should all be here, including: a 3.2 megapixel camera, 1GB memory, and an AMOLED display. And for further proof that HTC Click has a fight on its hands, hit the read link for plenty more glamor shots -- but not before you check out the video of Sammy's contender after the break.

If this comes to T-Mo, this is mine.
To clarify, AMOLED + compact + Android is what is selling me. Ditch the green and that kitchy polka dot pattern on the front and I'm surely sold. Actually, if the polka dot pattern is kept, that's going to be the deal-breaker for me (sad, I know). :\
Did the person in the video want to show us something? Cause that was a real crappy video otherwise. I know what android can and can't do but they just seemed clueless about what to do in the video.

Also like Jason said if it comes to t mobile I'll get it cause I want an android phone and an AMOLED screen. Wish I could get a real cheap Hero.
wow. I like it. Too bad that they will change the green cover, I like that too. But will reducing the camera resolution and the amount of flash memory (which is dirt cheap anyway) be enough to reduce the price to entry level smartphones? I seriously doubt that...
dear samsung,
white and green is a color scheme solely for slide out qwerty featurephones
And Xbox.
Now we need some loving on the 850MHz band
Hmmm... looks promising. Glad to see more OLED integration in handheld devices.
That's good and all, but what about offering the i7500 and i5700 in the US. Either one of them.
still waiting for Galaxy :(
Probably won't get it. Does T-Mo have something against having 8GB onboard and an LED Flash?

Summer lovin had me a blast. Summer lovin happened so fast.
I met a owner crazy for MEEEEEEE...
I met a phone cute as can be.
whooooaaa, is that a new song? who's it by?
Umm I created it...ya lol I am quite the genius. I am thinking of actually having it a duet song (may change lyrics from owner to girl and phone to boy though) and have it set in the 1950s with John Travolta as the lead. He could be a teenage riff raff who has a gang and the girl could be austrailian who just moved in the area.
you can use that program to find out. Just hold up the phone so the mic captures like a few seconds of it. As long as it's somewhat new it should be in the database...
Was it really going too far to ask for TWO GB of storage instead of one?
Ever heard of Micro SD?
Looks like it has a resistive screen. I'm shocked at the lack of editorial hatred.
I kinda like the green.....
Why are none of these phones being release in US? Probably El Nino.
This one is coming as the behold 2
I actually really really like the look of it!
What sort of hardware will it have? Will i be better than Hero specs? Because I understand that the Hero had excellent software that couldnt be backed up by hardware. Hoping it wont be the case with the Galaxy/lite.
Getting sick and tired of phones being sluggish and underpowered.
The Hero is far from sluggish and underpowered, with the updated ROM from HTC it flies, I'm calling it the HTC Hero 'S'. Check out engadgets update over in the mobile section.
Snooze-tastic. I mean, it's nice to see there's some competition, but...pretty boring video. And they even edited it several times to make it less boring...when the guy was buried in a bunch of menus. Seeing something like this really shows you how much work HTC put into Sense UI.
Dear Samsung,
Don't be like that; release the full Samsung Galaxy i7500 for US consumers. I can assure you, we want to buy it. Please, let us.
Sincerely yours,
A concerned consumer
