I think that's the point of the joke. Considering that most cable companies are offering 15-20mbit plans, plus with all the new areas with FIOS, the recent 6mbit DSL upgrade is a bit of a joke.
For those looking for a device strictly for reading, the new Kobo is a nice little option. It's small enough to slip into a pocket, can do more with a PDF than the competition, and at $129, it's $10 cheaper than both the Nook and Kindle WiFi.

New? They've only offered it in my area for a few years now...
Sorry just can't be too impressed with 6Mbps, when I have had 20Mbps from cox cable for years.
