Thanks for pointing that out. Even if it was meant to be a joke, the article could have seriously done without it. To many people it is just not as humorous. Although I understand the author's right to publish his views (or satire), I don't think Engadget is the place for statements which can be misconstrued as politically motivated.
For those looking for a device strictly for reading, the new Kobo is a nice little option. It's small enough to slip into a pocket, can do more with a PDF than the competition, and at $129, it's $10 cheaper than both the Nook and Kindle WiFi.
