We didn't think too much of Obscura Digital's multi-touch hologram when we spotted it last August, but evidently the company has been working overtime in order to outfit Hard Rock's newest cafe with a monstrous interactive video wall. Hard Rock Cafe Vegas Strip is the chain's second venue in Sin City, but it's far and away the one to hit if you're a self-proclaimed nerd. Aside from having access to a number of Microsoft Surface-based installations, you'll also spend a good bit of time navigating the Rock Wall. The 18- x 4-foot touch wall (video after the break) enables up to six guests to simultaneously surf through the outfit's expansive memorabilia collection, with options to zoom and flick through oodles of images. Obscura claims that it just might be the world's highest resolution interactive display available to the public, with a trio of HD projectors beaming the content from behind the glass. Not like you really needed another excuse to add one more HRC shirt / pin / glass to your collection, but feel free to express your gratitude in comments below.

Multitouch Barcelona made an 6 x 4 meters multitouch wall for Offf '09 festival, showing a variation of the Space Invaders game, where people were able to play throwing balls to the screen. The wall had full multitouch capabilities, due to its size was more convenient to interact with balls.
Awesome. It looks kinda like the Hard Rock Memorabilia website where you can zoom in and out to look at memorabilia with DeepZoom, but it's done through a multi-touch screen instead. http://memorabilia.hardrock.com/
Wow, that was really cool. I can only imagine that in about 10 years, we wouldn't be needing any screen for interaction. It would be like Minority Report. Can't wait!
Looks cool, but concerning size and resultion I must correct the statement "might be the world's highest resolution interactive display available to the public". Berlin, Germany based "q-bus.de" had a multitouch wall on display at the IFA 2008 and this years IFA 2009, which measured 18x1,50 m (59 x 4,9 foot) and had a resolution of 12600x1050 points. The wall is fully multitouch capable, so the only limiting factor for the number of users is the room in front of the wall. You can grab one element on the left and push it 18 meters to the right, so the whole display is one large interface. Maybe it’s not public enough, but anyone can come to Berlin and visit the IFA.
Alongside the Rock Wall (woot to Obscura), the new Hard Rock Las Vegas also launched with seven Microsoft Surface units and a touch-based interface at each of the cafe’s 38 booths. Info and videos on those components here: . Rock ’n’ roll.

Great, a giant touchscreen at a tourist destination (albeit at a no longer cool hotel). This should help quicken the spread of H1N1.
It's actually at the new cafe that just opened, not the hotel.
Also known as the H1N1 transmission center.
looks like a good way to GET and SPREAD SWINE FLU!

Hmm. Trying that URL again. Other touch-based interface components at the new Hard Rock Las Vegas:

This is pretty amazing. I wonder how much it cost them to make this.
