ASUS stuffs TV tuner into new T1 series of Full HD monitors
We aren't trying to get all up in your business or anything, but if you've found yourself in the market for a TV tuning LCD of late, ASUS has a trio that just might serve your needs. The T1 is comprised of 22-, 24- and 27-inch displays, all of which boast 1080p panels, a pair of HDMI sockets, a hybrid TV tuner, twin seven watt speakers, a fairly unexciting black chassis and a 3-year warranty. We're told that these are available now across the pond starting at £279 ($461), though there's no indication that these will ever ship stateside (nor if they'll ever see a Designo makeover).

I long for when full HD LCD monitors will also have rabbit ear antennas.
*sigh*
lol, that would be neat, if you didn't have to do it yourself.
Still, the above monitors seem like a pretty good deal. I'm kinda in a need to get "with" the new HD monitors, still using an old one 1280 1024.
The appearance is not what depicted in this news.
Would you see such a bulky device in a living room?
By the way that looks like a bigger brother of my old vw222.

you can see the new monitors.
Ciao all

here is your monitor together with decent pics.
They BETTER ship stateside, I just went from a 24 inch iMac to a 14 inch Asus laptop for college and my eyes are not adjusting well from 1920x1200 to 1366x768. (I love everything about the laptop however) This would be the perfect companion, as soon as it's available I'm snatching it up.
A hybrid tuner? Why?
I can see the point in adding a digital tuner to analogue video inputs, but analogue RF will soon be fairly pointless since the signals are due to be turned off so the only potential long term use is for ancient gaming machines or 8-bit computer which only have RF-out when you really don't want to just get a separate modulator.
Not all analog signals were or will be shut off, especially in remote areas. I'm sure their numbers will be dwindling though. Perhaps Asus got a deal on leftover hybrid tuners?
ANUS has been on fire this week!
Why not make a 1920x1200 monitor too? I need that extra real estate means I can display a few more lines of code in an emacs window. Does make a difference sometimes.
why is asus so keen on copying the color palette for snow leopard?
What's the big deal? Once you stick a tuner into the panel, doesn't it just become a TV? I'm pretty sure there is nothing ground breaking here.
