JVC puts 4K DLA-RS4000 projector in your home... for just $175,000
By and large, any 4K x 2K projector that we've seen -- be it at CES, CEDIA or any other trade show -- has been solely for looks. Oh sure, they're for sale, but they're only being sold to cinema owners and the select few that find themselves within the same tax bracket as Bill Gates and Lawrence Ellison. But the DLA-RS4000... the DLA-RS4000 is different. Introduced here in Atlanta, the ultra high-definition projector spots a native resolution of 4,096 x 2,400, enabling it to display up to four screens of Full HD content (you listening, college football / NFL fans?) at once. Naturally, it's fully ISF and THX certified, and it packs 3,500 ANSI lumens, a Xenon lamp, 10,000:1 contrast ratio, RSVP4 video processing unit, Ethernet port and an RS-232c control port. Interested in showing 1080p what's really up? Great! Crack open that wallet and yank out $176,000 -- $175,000 for the beamer, and a grand to rent the forklift you'll need to get a 110 pound box into your home.

Dammit, I would have gotten three, one for each bathroom, but all the forklift rental companies within a 100 mile radius of me only have forklifts that can take a max wait of 107 pounds.
Fate can be a cruel mistress.
Not checking over posts is even crueler. I off course meant, 'weight'.
I believe you also meant "of". =)
I don't believe so http://wvde.state.wv.us/tt/2002/grammartips/grammartip0039.html
Thanks for keeping me on my toes though!
@Esat Dedezade... Dude you comment back without carefully reading other's comments! RicoRich196's comment was to your second comment: "OF COURSE" instead of "OFF COURSE". ;)
Ah. I'll leave with my head hung low in shame, both for that error and for tainting this post with pointless discussion.
Hmm, ok, I'm intrigued, but how is this thing better than say, one of these:

I notice there's a pretty big price difference. I'm not just paying for a fancy name with the more expensive one, am I?
@hexdeys : Aren't you aware that the bigger the better? This is true of everything, especially electronics. So no, you won't pay for the fancy name but for the extra (almost) 110 pounds.
Are you daft?! The one engadget posted in a super high definition projector that's of movie theater quality. What you linked is a cheap low definition projector. Obviously they are meant for VERY different things.
@AlCapa: Oh man, I can't wait until the 200lb version of this thing! I bet it's amazing!
@blueangel4: WOOSH!
Haha, I love how under "Customers Who Bought Related Items Also Bought" there's a bunch of Leatherman-type utility tools and then a bunch of sex tip books...classy!
@daaper: I noticed the same thing. About 20 sex books, a bunch of Leatherman multi-tools...oh, and of course, a new copy of Mac OS X "Snow Leopard".
@blueangel
You are going to have a tough life ahead...
Ordered. Thanks!
dammit! and i just mounted the sex swing where the projector would go... what are the odds
Ordering. I'll use it on my future quad-SLI GTX395, 16GB DDR3-1600, Core i9 1250 system to play Crysis 2 on max.
any way I can tweak the maximum resolution? It only does 2560x1600.
Fake. No way Crysis 2 will run on those low of specs.
Forklift? Put down your MacBook Air for 10 minutes, call your friend to help you put it on a table. Buy the guy a pizza for his efforts.
$970 saved.
For $175.000 projector i would rent a forklift, and 100 matresses. A local university had one hanging from the roof. HAD! The mounting bolts came undone from the ceiling and it crashed to the ground. That was 'only' $50 000 projector. Dont be cheap on bolts hanging things from the ceiling.
So $1000 is cheap, considering if the alternative is even a slight chance of this expensive equipment dropping.
I wonder how much a replacement bulb is.
Then you are probably not the market for this product...
Sounds like: If you have to ask, you can't afford it. hehe
When's the recession antidote for this again?
im in for that
Or you can just get this guy for a whole lot less.

Hmmm... 175,000 ... Buy house (deposit) or Projector of House?
You could use it to project a life sized image of a really nice house and impress your friends (at night at least).
My God - who on earth has a wall that big?
JVC puts 4K DLA-RS4000 projector in your home, for the price of your home.
4 HD screens? NO thanks ill take my full 2400p video. Thats if I can find the content
All you need is a 4k upconverting video server:

Enjoy!
I'd pay the 175k just to get them to settle on one resolution for the 4K standard.
1080p means 1080p, but 4K x 2K stands for like 15 different resolutions and AR's.
I'm pretty darn sure that 1024x600 is not "Full HD."
I'll need to re-enforce my ceiling to hang this shIt :)
ill need to reinforce my shit when i see the price
i shud just cram 4x 1080 projectors into a large metal case and print out this item descriptionn to scam people with
What the hell is so magical about this tax bracket, Darren Murph?
The worst Larry Ellison and Bill Gates can do from the exhorbitant tax bracket perspective is to be in the top one, which is 35%applied on part of the income above $372K. Roughly 1% of US population or about 3 MILLION Americans are falling into that category.
