LG launches XD3 Slim portable HDDs
Brushed aluminum exterior filed down to a minimalist 13mm in thickness with rubber-padded sides for impact protection. This is not just a portable hard drive, this is an LG XD3 Slim portable hard drive. It seems like LG has decided to differentiate its products on aesthetics alone, as the XD3 has the same USB and SATA II connectivity that have been on offer since the XD1, and storage is no greater than the max 500GB on the XD2. Even so, if the Korean price of 110,000 Won ($90) for the 320GB model shows up unaltered in Western lands, we know what we'll be buying our imaginary girlfriends come Christmas.

Wow, the exchange rate has really come back around. The US Dollar is worth something again, compared to a couple years ago, I guess.
These are pretty, but it's hard for me to care. I have a hard time buying less than 1TB for $100, which I've seen a few times. 320 gb for $90 is just not good enough anymore.
I remember when i bought an 80gb for $90..and that was only a couple of years ago. Memory has really come down in price lately.
Some of the sexiest drive enclosures I've seen.
uhh what's up with the video?
Open up the legs and filet mignon that christmas food.
It's the secret ingredients that make up the hard drives!
Sounds like a Christmas call girl chef.
90 bills for 320 gigs?
I'll take the red one.
Portable and moving parts don't mix. Go Flash or SSD.
I bought the XD1 just the other day. So handy having eSATA on a 2.5" drive (draws power over the USB conenctor).
Unfortunately the build quality on my red-wine unit is disappointing. It's cheap and the unit isn't even lining up any more. These XD3s look identical but have aluminium outer shell and rubber protectors around the edge which should be a big improvement.
It ticked all the right boxes for me though - cheap ($85 AUD), fast (eSATA), portable (2.5"). Worth looking at, came with an fake leather pouch and a bunch of cables.
