Motorola introduces the MOTOBLUR Android skin
As expected, Motorola just introduced its Android strategy at the Mobilize conference, and it's based around a skin called Blur -- or MOTOBLUR if you're feeling cute. It's built around social networking, and it features live widgets that integrate Twitter, Facebook, Gmail, MySpace, Yahoo, Last.fm and more. Like Palm's Synergy, Blur aggregates all your contacts into a single address book, but it shows you recent status updates along with photos when contacts call you -- very slick. There's also remote wipe and GPS tracking like MobileMe.

so is it a new phone, or just skin
A new skin based off Android.
I love Blur!
woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
wait, they announced the hardware, nice. Motorola Click
298 minutes away from cake?
just switched to tmobile after 9 long years with at&t... i am happy with the motoblur so far, better than the iphone in my opinion. but i like being different.:)
It sure is blurry!
Was the picture taken blurry on purpose?
seems like it might have potential...they have always had solid reception and voice quality but their OS has blown balls the last couple of years...maybe Andriod + Blur = a decent phone?
Nice to see another Android option. More choice of the platform makes me happy.
Looks very very promising. Can't wait til the XDA guys get ahold of that rom and port the widgets to the G1:)
one thing you can't copy is the Moto Bur, so they would be SOL..
Not sure why you'd say that. The XDA guys have HTC's proprietary Sense UI stuff ripped and running on the G1. This uses the same basic proc and everything, I think its highly likely that as soon as that ROM hits the streets the XDA guys will get hacking.
That looks like a cluttered mess.
Is it just me or does their Android skin look a lot like Maemo?
The phone looks pretty cool compared to the Android phones HTC is churning out. A social networking skin will appeal to the younger crowd. With a (hopefully) $99 price point, it should be a hit.
Now where are the blurry cam shots?
Looks ok, would have to try one to see how usable it is. But really, just give us an affordable Android phone, Motorola.
Too many vowels. MTBLR!
Looks cluttered. I'll take my stock Android interface over that one any day.
girls who like boys who like boys to be girls who do Android
always should be some OS you really looooooooove
now if only HTC can make an oasis skin. then we'd have a good android battle!
anyone else think it kinda looks like the Nokia N97 in that picture?
"Like Palm's Synergy, Blur aggregates all your contacts into a single address book, but it shows you recent status updates along with photos when contacts call you -- very slick."
Errr.... you mean like HTC's Hero?
Wow! That looks really nice! Android is the future, we just need somebody to do to Android what Apple did with the iPhone apps.
There must be a magic potion of marketing wisdom..available exclusively to moto mrtkrs. How else can one explain that Blur is good, people love blur, will gift blur to loved ones and sleep with blur on the bedside table. Blur is the new black. God loves Blur. Lesser mortals will kill for it. iSomethings will wilt in envy. S-somethings will be scared shitless. Blur blur blur everywhere. Heck, even the G-everything will re-brand that humanoid droid to sport a blurry look.Guess what happened to the boundaries of the PC and smartphone? Yep, they got blurred. And why are the Jones's acting like carzy these days? Yep, they got blur. And hey, where's that company that did gizmos like the Razr? Yep, they got blur :-)
