Motorola CLIQ's November launch revealed in T-Mobile roadmap leak? (Update: new info points to October)
T-Mobile and Motorola weren't too forthcoming with a US launch date for the CLIQ, given only a ballpark estimate of "holiday." However, this supposed carrier roadmap pinpoints a November release for the social-equipped Android handset. No clue how long ago this slide was made or how valid the information is -- note the placeholder image and non-capitalized title -- but we can't imagine T-Mo would wait too close to Christmas to unleash it on the willing masses. Mum's still the word on price, but that previous $0.00 figure is probably too good to be true.
Update: Boy Genius has clarified that the source who gave him this chart is claiming it to be an outdated roadmap, and that a newer, not yet seen one shows it for October. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Its already listed and pictured on the Tmobile site under "coming soon".
The $0 pricetag would push Android into the mainstream, and attract MUCH more developers...I'm not a fan of the phone, but I hope it does well for this reason.
I don't understand why so many places doubt the zero price - this is a low-end phone that is meant to get into end-user hands in the gajillions. No better way to do that then to give it away, just like the featurephones it's meant to replace.
The source for the T-Mobile web page about the Cliq has the (search?) string
>>> "...compare free cell phones..."
Turns out all the pages have that same string - so NOT a sign the Cliq actually is free.
@Freakin Ijit
Firstly, we doubt the free price tag becuase, AFAIK, no other carriers in the U.S. offer smart phones straight-up for free. If you look at what phones T-Mo currently offers for free, they are the dumbest of dumb phones. Secondly, this isn't a 'low-end' phone. It has the same/slightly better specs than the G1 and MT3G, and it costs as much or more to manufacture.
You really think that they are gonna offer the Cliq for free, when the older, outdated (in consumers' minds) Android phones cost $149.99 and $199.99???
Wrong system. This yet another GSM phone. If it were CDMA, better yet dual-system, it could own the so-far-ignored Verizon customer and have no iPhone to worry about.
Yes, I do as a matter of fact.
Hmm no n900 either like some had thought.
Hmm. I dont see Bold 2 there!
Is the Hauwei the Android phone that was leaked a while back?
realized that it's the pulse and not http://regmedia.co.uk/2009/02/16/huawei_1.jpg
This roadmap is surprisingly lame...
count me in for one...
so long old friend(G1)
wow, they wont let us pre-order it.LAME.
now, I wont be the trendy one with an early release phone =(
That TMo Hauwei looks like the same TMo Pulse prepaid Android phone they are marketing in UK. I hope they offer it prepaid stateside so people like me can finally enjoy Android.
is it supposed to be Huawei...?
I might want to get this. Anyone knows if it can take at&t 3G? I really like the D-pad and overall the design of the phone. The only thing I was let down was it didn't 16 mil colors, the OMAP3 CPU(I guess I can live with the 528), and a bigger screen. I also like the Sholes, but it'll most likely be expensive unlocked. And considering its CDMA, it'll be difficult.
Excuse my English, it didn't *have* 16 mil colors, *nor* the OMAP3 CPU.
Probably not
I was afraid of that. Don't know where, but I heard some guy got his G1 to work fine under their 3G. So there's a chance.
Where did you hear that? they operate on different bands? was that some crazy modding?
Old map indeed. Shows the Blackberry 8520 as releasing Oct 5th. Thing's been out since early August.
Not very useful for anything other than wild speculation.
Cheese Nuggets
That's a AT&T phone, we are talking T-Mobile here.
@Someperson It would be less expensive to pay the ETF and port your number to T mobile.but according to the Band specs yoiu should be able to get this phone unlocked and use and use it on AT&T's network.
*sighs*
While cool, this is hardly an enhancement over the G1. Same basic screen size, same RAM, and from the looks of it the same basic processor.
I would like to see a larger screen. Partially for overall usability, but also for browsing. The screen on the G1 is just too damn small.
I'm actually pretty unhappy with it. I've been waiting and waiting for another Android device with a keyboard on it and it looks like the followup is, at least on paper...simply a followup to the G1. How Moto has tweaked Android and if its better then on the G1 I guess is really the only burning question I have at this point. I've had my G1 since Nov of last year. Got it the day it was released. While overall I've been happy (esp after I got the replacement system, the first one I had I struggled with for 6 months until I realized I had a lemon) I've also had a touch pro for work. while I like Android better then WinMob, set side by side the Touch Pro makes the G1 feel downright cheap. But I guess for the price...it wasn't a bad deal. But I would have no problems with spending $300+ on a solidly built device. Not sure if this thing is it though.
I can confirm October. Was told by a rep yesterday the thing was due to drop next month (on the 14th).
The Motorokr E6 was way ahead of it's time in terms of features. A2DP, 3.5mm jack, tethering, full browser, media player, voice dialing, multi-tasking, open architecture. I've loved using mine these past few years and have been waiting for something worthy to retire it. HTC lost me when they opted to exclude the headphone jack. I'm counting on Moto to pull another rabbit out of their hat with the Cliq.
Really? I called TMo and while he sounded like he KNEW the date, he was not giving the info. I also asked if I could pre-order and he said no... I am up for full discount in Jan but he said that he'd make a note saying when it came out that I could get full discount; like he knew something but couldn't say anything. I am hoping that it is less than 100 with a full discount... hell for free Id pay the express shipping!
I would really love to see T-Mobile start carrying a larger assortment of more competitive blackberrys.
