Philips puts a touchpad on a mouse, laughs maniacally
Philips couldn't decide whether you asked for a Bluetooth mouse, a USB mouse, or a touchpad, so it Frankensteined all three together. What can we say about aptly named "Bluetooth notebook mouse SPM9800/10?" Well, if you need a Bluetooth mouse, you can use it like a Bluetooth mouse. If the juice runs out, plug it in via USB and you have a USB mouse and recharge the batteries. But the feature that most differentiates this from other, how we say, 'mash-ups,' is that the click wheel has been replaced with a 360°TouchControl sensor, which is essentially a touchpad on the top of the thing. That's right: lift this thing off the table and use the touchpad to move around on the screen. PowerPoint has never been this sexy! Hits the scene in select European markets soon for about $80.
Update: USB cable is for charging only. Odd, we know.

They should've thrown in gyro functionality while they were at it.
Well it couldn't possibly be any worse than the mighty mouse.
Wasn't there an patent from Apple a while back that was similar to this? Where the entire top surface was a touchpad for gestures and stuff?
now I *know* this can't play Crysis
How about making it a DETACHABLE usb cord for when u need to charge the batteries, IM BRILLIANT!
when the charging cradle on my logitech mouse stopped, well, charging the mouse, i actually hobbled that together out of some old audio l/r cable i had laying around. i made this little thing that fit around the bottom of the mouse, and then when the battery ran out, i just put this little thing around my mouse, and it would charge and i could still use it. i looked everywhere for a wireless mouse that did this, and i couldn't find a single one. seems pretty obvious to me, i mean, if the ps3 controllers can do it...
@feat-us
Buddy i've tried endlessly also, alas i couldnt find either! I think i'll just mod my current wireless mouse.
I still use my Logitech V500 Cordless Notebook Mouse that I bought several years ago, and it's still the best travel mouse that I've ever used. Heck, it's better than most desktop mice that I've used as well.
