Sleek Audio adds phosphorescent glow to wireless CT6 Aura earbuds
Even those with everything probably wish their high-end earbuds had a bit more personality, and if you're reclined in your Victorian-era sofa in a robe befitting one Chuck Bass nodding in agreement, we'd encourage you to have a gander at Sleek Audio's latest. Essentially, these are the same Kleer-enabled CT6 'buds that the affluent among us have grown to love, but with an obvious twist. Thanks to the inclusion of phosphorescent particles within the shell and top plate, the $374.99 CT6 Aura can actually glow in a variety of colors, giving DJs around the globe one more reason to ditch the cans and go small. Currently, the CT6 Aura can be ordered in green, blue, orange, yellow and white, with pricing set at $25 more than the standard CT6. Gnarly, right?
Sleek Audio Announces Another Product First with the CT6 Aura Wireless Compatible Earphones
Custom earphones that emit light through phosphorescent particles imbedded in the shell and top plate
Palmetto, Fl. September 16, 2009 – Sleek Audio, developer of the SA6 acoustically customizable earphone and recipient of Popular Science's "Best of What's New" award in 2008 has announced the newest option for their acclaimed custom earphones with the CT6 Aura.
The CT6 Aura utilizes the same audio technology as the CT6, but adds a new design feature that makes the custom earphones that much more unique. Using phosphorescent technology, the CT6 Aura earphones emit a powerful glow in a range of colors for those who don't mind onlookers starring curiously at their ears during overnight flights.
"The CT6 Aura came about when a DJ asked us if we could make him earphones that glowed while he was working, we told him we'd look into it, and after some time playing around with different options we've developed some really cool new designs," said Mark Krywko, CEO of Sleek Audio. "We worked hard to perfect the audio performance of the CT6 earphones, and now we're just having fun with the countless customization options we can offer our customers. The CT6 Aura will perform the same as the standard CT6, they're just a little more fun for those who want something new," added Krwyko.
The CT6 Aura, like its SA6 in-ear earphone counterpart, can go from wired to wireless and back again thanks to its removable, swivel cables. Using KLEER™ wireless technology, the CT6 Aura's offer unprecedented sound quality from a wired and wireless platform. It also offers ESC (Environmental Sound Control) eliminating up to 32dB of external noise.
"So far DJ's have been showing the most interest in the CT6 Auara's as they look pretty cool glowing in their ears in dark clubs and shows," added Krywko.
Currently the CT6 Aura is available in the following color options: green, blue, purple, orange, white and yellow.

Why?
Why Not?!?!
when yo have this much money to spend!!
Some DJ asked them. I hope they checked he'd actually buy one.
It looks like an insanely overpriced runaway from crapgadget.
looks like a radio active gumbear...
Will... Will I get cancer if I put these in my ears?
"Well his behavior is probably influenced by that nasty bit of radioactive sludge that's always pouring down from his ear canal."
"Oh my gosh, I didn't know... poor guy. It explains so much."
No.. 0_o
I'd be afraid of anything with the word "phosphor" in it. Especially if it involved putting it near my head.
At least in my country, Coca-Cola contains phosphoric acid. I've heard some people actually drink that stuff.
Various colors make me think of tiny LED
Looks pretty but the price leaves me a bit skeptical..
It's the iPhone MSM add-on...
MainStream Media?
Sorry, guess that was too esoteric a reference.
But being that the iPhone is still MMS-less, on more than one occasion I've had friends who've sought me out to help them with their iPhones and try to hack it to get "MSM" working.
They read somewhere on the intartubez apparently that iPhone "MSM" was coming...but the technical details remained a mystery to them.
Guess I'll point some of them to this product...
The MSM are just the initials for the person who bought those particular customs, I would imagine, seeing as you can get custom graphics on these
These look great but pricey, I'm more for the sound quality then the style though. I'm on the search for new bt ear buds, but I can't make up my mind. Anyone have any suggestions? I came across this site http://www.budsgoblue.com/ but I don't really know what they are. They look cool, anyone have any info they can share with me?
If turtles, warthogs, rats, and rhinos are exposed to this awesome, glowing sound; you may have a cartoon on your hands.
Maybe they will tell people, "If you buy it, it will unlock MMS and Tethering to iPhone".... someone will fall for it.
I actually own the CT6s and the wireless. I dont have the glow ones but theyre really nice. im sure they sound the same as the ones i have which sound better then anything ive ever owned. its a lot cheaper then the other ones i was looking at too.
but damn i want some glowey ones haha
neato
Nice, but I'll just add lights to my Beltones.
Why the hell would I want to stick glow in the dark boogers into my ears?
I am the DJ who brought the idea to the table. I couldn't be happier with sleek. They were super helpful the entire way. These are very very reasonable when compared to what I would spend on a pair of technics or sonys over the ear headphones. I have found myself using these earphones outside of djing too. I bought the wireless pack and the quality of the sound rivals the clubs sound system.

Why do people always refer IEMs as "earbuds" ¬_¬
I though MSM stood for something else...
Here's a hint: it's NSFW.
Anyone else thins of eXistance when they saw this?
Maybe they enhance aural sex.
cool, it got my initials :P
