LG introduces XPION X30 Ion-based nettop
Apparently not content to let ASUS have all the fun, LG's just announced the XPION X30, its first Ion-based nettop. This little fella features an Atom N230 CPU, 2GB of RAM, 250GB HDD, and ships with Windows Vista (for the time being, at least). Aside from sporting six (count 'em!) USB ports, it weighs in at a mere 2.4 lbs, draws just 40 watts of power, and can be VESA mounted to the back of your LCD. But never mind all that -- as long is it allows us to stream American Ninja from Netflix with minimal fuss we're happy. Debuts tomorrow in Korea.

I would just like to point out that none of the American Ninja movies are available streaming through netflix.
Nevermind, Irish American Ninja is.
Which I just realized is a soof.
Spoof. So much fail.
C-C-C-C-C-C-Combo Breaker!...
I wouldn't mind getting myself one of those. As long as she doesn't bring that crappy net-top appliance with her.
Did they list a price on this?
Your soul. In Korean dollars.
What's the exchange rate on that Steve?
An arm, and a leg I believe.
ASRock ION 330, no windows, and atom 330. Already on the market.

i love their sound comparison chart
"wood: 15 dB"
who knew that wood could be so loud?
How do you pronounce that? Ass Rock?
The no windows+Atom330+alreadyavailable sounds VERY appealing,
however
- at the very top both the Vista and Vista2.0 (windows 7) logos are shown while the "energy star level" box lists windows xp
- atom330 = wikkid !
- where is it available?
specs are nice, but can't VESA mount to the back of the monitor like the LG
here's an example of a regular N270 / GMA950 version from MSI:

Ion!!!!!
Let me get this straight,
the XP-ION runs vista? I don't hate vista, in fact I've never had any big problems with it. The name just kinda throws you off.
@ieatzpie, try asking vista to do more than one thing at a time. You should have a problem with it then.
That's funny because as I'm typing this comment I'm listening to music, chatting on AIM, typing up my homework, editing a picture on GIMP,and eating a beef bowl.
I multitasking on vista all the time. Gaming, aim, winamp, utorrent, maya, word, movies, I do several of those things at once in Vista every day and it's been just fine. I think the problems with Vista were largely exaggerated by people running it on older unsuitable hardware, and hardware vendors for not supporting it like they should have with proper drivers.
No wonder it took you so long to reply. Seriously, If you multitask on vista often and you have never had a problem with vista then you are very lucky. Or maybe your running vista on an alienware m17x, That bad boy dominates vista. Good luck with vista on this thing though.
I'm actually running it on an HP laptop with a 2.16ghz Core 2. Not exactly a top of the line alienware.
That said, vista was never intended for underpowered processors like the atom. Microsoft designed it thinking it was mostly going to be used in new computers, when even the low end intels and amd's were more than enough to handle it. They had no idea the market was going to shift to underpowered netbooks with hardly any ram. Now that the market has shifted and people are buying eee's as much as wii's, they've optimized things in 7 and adapted to the market. I have 7 on my eee and it's fantastic. Vista has it's fare share of problems, but I recall XP having even more when it launched. Exaggerated by people who shouldn't have installed Vista on their shitty pentium 4 machines, and again, if you had problems multitasking on your machine with vista it was likely either from having ancient hardware or bad driver support, which is the hardware makers mistake.
@Carmelzappa I'm running vista on an HP laptop with 2.10 GHz l Core2,
I'm gonna have to disagree with you this. llik at it this way. If you have 2 identical laptops, one running vista and one running windows 7, and the one running windows performs much better, the problem is the software. And Windows XP was way better than anything out at that time and for a couple years after. lets not compare vista to windows xp anymore.
So thats what a korean with semi-downs-syndrome looks like? Heh.
Shame on you Technerd
is it just me or are the asian models with these products looking worse and worse. I remember last year they were super hot now it becoming more mediocre.
On the tech side LG made one beautiful nettop. Now just design an O/LCD panel that only draws 40watts and you got a nice green machine~
I hope its less than 300€, because I've purchased yesterday a revo (Intel Atom 330 2x 1.60GHz • 4096MB • 320GB • nVIDIA GeForce 9400 (IGP) • VGA/HDMI • Gb LAN/WLAN • 4in1 CardReader • 1x eSATA • Windows Vista Home Premium • nVIDIA ION Plattform)
Why not make the for factor the same as a laptop with no screen. It would be a bit bigger but way thinner. Then you could back mount it and put the screen closer to the wall or put the monitor on top if the machine. It would be like a eeepc with no screen. Like .4" thick.
Not to be mean, the girl is pretty but... they should replace her with someone like Megan Fox:P
