Ben Heck moves PS3 shoulder buttons to the front, spins us right round, baby, right round
If you've ever wished that those buttons on your videogame controller were over here instead of over there, you know who to call. Master modder Ben Heck's latest creation isn't his most amazing, but it fulfills a need for one gamer, that is to "make the shoulder buttons easier to get at." The result is a somewhat inelegant mod (by Heck's standards), bringing the L and R buttons to the fore, ditching the "last generation" rumble motors in the process. No loss, right Phil Harrison? Video demonstration after the break.

meatspin reference anyone?
someone must surely have done it already but i'm after a ps3 controller in the 360 shell...
360 triggers feel so much more natural imo...
It has been done before, by Ben Heck. He charges $750 for a pair of them.
looks like a bad photoshop job to me.
If you're going to get rid of the rumble anyway, use a SIXAXIS instead of a DS3. It's cheaper that way.
Ben Heck -THE LEGEND
In an example of complete and utter irony, Lego and Play Doh are the two mediums that defy Ben Heck.
Ben Heck once modified a calculator to modify three other devices and then do his taxes.
Ben Heck will soon lend his name to a line of quality tools, solders and adhesives: You will have to modify the packaging even more than modern blisterpacks to remove them for use.
The legend continues...
Personally I have no problem accessing the shoulder buttons but I can see that being an issue.
What?
I think that I'd personally find this setup more difficult to use. I have large hands and don't have any problem with the original placement of the buttons but I could see how someone with small hands may.
Do you just post anything this guy does? Not to take away from what he's done before, but stop drinking the kool aid.
Let's not forget that Spielberg directed Indiana Jones 4... doesn't mean it was good.
Yeah Move the left Analogue stick already, and that mod is the most useless thing I have ever seen.
wtf
Just wanted to give some props to your subeditor - the headlines on Engadget are usually well-crafted and frequently amusing, and I enjoy reading them a lot! This one was particularly nice.
