for many, the purpose of i7 is to play games, mobile GPU either overheats too much and/or just not capable of play latest games, (mac users have to install windows to play most of those any way), I think they need to find a better mobile GPU solution or make GPU external...
If the purpose of the i7 is to play games then they aren't paying attention. Very few games uses quad core and regular old Core 2 duo's play almost all games faster than the i5 or i7. I play plenty of games without installing Windows. Crossover works quite well for me. The Mac native call of Duty 4 works quite well for me. There aren't many games out there worth playing anyway.

and maybe the fact that aren't many games worth playing out there for you is because you're using a mac -.-
There are plenty of games released that are QUIET worth playing imo ;)
