GPS,
iriver NV mini bike edition routes two-wheeled warriors
iriver's NV mini has been out and about for nearly a full year now, so it makes sense to think that some sort of successor was just about ready to pop. Sure enough, a next-gen version (of sorts) has been revealed, with the NV mini bike edition (₩188,000; $156) looking to help those out there who suck it up and bike to work / school / etcetera rather than hailing a cab. The 3.5-inch touchscreen (320 x 240) is unchanged in terms of size, but the UI has been tweaked to provide larger glimpses at what's most important. It's also designed to respond to gloved fingers, and the "exercise" mode keeps track of distance traveled, speed, time traveled and calories burned. Other specs include an SDHC card slot, 3.5 millimeter headphone socket and Windows CE 5.0 underneath, with an on sale date of "right now" in South Korea.

I want one now, it seems realy usefull at least for us swedes.
It looks like you are going to have to order this one from Korea. I can't seem to find more info about releasing date in the state yet. Found more specs from this website http://www.thepinhead.com/Blog/?p=487.
good
anyone know what that cream bike is, it's a beauty
Looks like an Electra cruiser with a springer fork. There are several brands of cruisers that can be specc'd with a springer and white tires - they've become quite trendy around here.
Not every cartoon is made by Walt Disney
Judging from the logo, frame & wheels that have almost two times more spokes than usual (it's quite an illusion with the pavement) I'd guess it's something from Micargi's workshop. It definitely looks like a STOCK (without any modifications) Micargi Cougar GTS Men's Beach Cruiser.
And not every cruiser bike is made by Electra or Schwinn there are others too - Nirve, Phat, Felt, Kustom Kruisers, sixthreezero, Hampton Cruisers, Sun, Firmstrong, Micargi, Greenline...
Got it, the handles tricked me. It's a Micargi Urban LRD 26" Beach Cruiser
The paint is an option (Micargi makes it in virtually any color but the knob goblins usually don't offer them), not sure about the pure white tires.

My Google Foo master wouldn't be too proud, on the other hand my bike fetish swami would be most pleased.
Is it waterproof? Else it would be overpriced a lot
Notable line from the link: "Ironically the NV mini seemingly comes with an in-car mount, whereas a handlebar mount is a separate accessory"
Is it waterproof? No
A 'bicycle device' that isn't waterproof isn't a bicycle device, plain and simple.
it would be amazing if it had GPS
It looks like it does.
From the Read link:
"The iriver NV mini bike edition is a sliced-down version of their NV classic, keeping the touchscreen, GPS and media playback but dropping the integrated DMB TV tuner."
The blurb on Engadget should have mentioned it.
I will be buying one when I can get it here in the states.
I am pretty certain it does. The website mentions "smart automotive navigation system" and "internal antenna" as two of the features
So...what ever happened to 'keeping your eyes on the road'?
Same as for car drivers. A touchscreen navi-GPS can be a fun toy to have along on a ride.
Cyclist aren't like drivers in cars, if they don't pay attention they will lose, lose bad, you don't kill the other guy with a bicycle, you just kill yourself.
In short that's taken care of by the very nature of the thing.
