Rugged, waterproof Predator VX360 wearable camcorder destined for X Games
Had your daily dose of Sal Masekela? No? Shame on you! Though, we have to say, if this here wearable camcorder takes off, you could very well hear that very fellow doing color commentary over some pretty sick footage. The Predator VX360 is a rugged, waterproof wearable video camera that's engineered to withstand abuse from the elements while popping 1080 kickflips on the halfpipe, and unlike many head-worn alternatives, this one has its recording module (complete with a built-in LCD) strapped to an armband. The "eyeball camera" is still meant to cling tightly to your dome, but details are scant when it comes to resolution and the like. It's available now for daredevils in the UK, though the £549.99 ($892) sticker is apt to keep most of 'em at bay.

Are you high? A 1080 kickflip?
You cant 1080 kickflip?
Shaun white tried but failed....has anyone ever landed it? Anyone know?
you nerds stop acting like you know anything outside tony hawks games.
shaun white cant even 1080 yet. let alone 1080 kickflip
GoPro makes a better cam for under 200$. This is way overpriced, just seach youtube for "go pro jet ski" to see stand up jetskiiers making awesome videos.
hmmmmmm......1080 kickflip. you sure that isn't a reference to high def? you know, as in a kick flip at 1080 line of resolution?
I really doubt it will make it to the X-Games. The pads and helmets are uncomfortable enough and make it hard to perform. Any extra weight and/or bulk like camera would be ridiculous. I may not be a pro skater or anything, but I'm not terrible, and any time I try to skate with any extra weight (even if its just a backpack with a light book or something in it) there's a very noticeable difference in how well I can skate. It throws off my balance. And as for the 1080 kickflip, I think they're talking about a quadruple kickflip where the board spins 4 times, not a 1080 degree turn coupled with a kickflip.
VX360... is this a Verizon Wireless camera?
That looks bulky as all hell. And like a 1990's Sony Walkman.
I'd rather get a VIO POV 1.5 myself. http://www.vio-pov.com
640x480 @ 30fps
SD and SDHC storage @ 45 Minutes per GB
Divx (AVI) files
About 100 Minutes recording per charge
For $900 to get it to the US? Forgetaboutit!
My GOPro Camera does all that for 1/4 the price. Just missing the LCD for playback.
Actually the Predator is available for 599 at pointofviewcameras.com. Ill past the link down below.
Ive used both this and the gopro, and while the gopro is a great cheap cam, the footy doesnt look anywhere near as good as this, and it wouldnt operate in the environments this is designed to be in. Its not for everyone thats for sure, but if you spend your time in the water, this is the cam to get.

I was at this power boat event and watched the VX360's being put on the racers with ease, the LCD screen and adjustment of the cam ball made it so quick a simple to line up, I got one, tired a go pro but to hard to work out good footage, always in the wrong direction, just a bit out of the frame is so annoying.

off now to try a 1080 in the water !, saw a Jet skier do 3 flips in this video !
Looks like they just put it on sale, price has dropped to 399 GBP now at their on-line store http://shop.predatorworld.co.uk/
I've had a go with one (not affiliated with them in any way) it is designed for water/action sports and as totally waterproof, not just water resistant like a lot of the other cams of this style. Although it looks bulky, it isn't and once attached to your arm you actually forget it's there quite quickly. They were at the Gadget Show Live in Birmingham (UK) and had it on demo, which is where I saw it.
If you're a water sports fanatic and want something that isn' going to suffer through getting wet then this is certainly worth a look.
I'm saving to get one for snowboarding this coming season and with this reduction I'm very tempted!
