Video: Alienware invades TGS: will 'shake the gaming world to its foundation'

Alienware's been running a series of teasers hyping an invasion. Get it, invasion... aka, new product launch? The Round Rock mothership reveals that the big unveil will occur at the Tokyo Game Show, presumably Thursday when the event officially begins. A launch so big that it will "shake the gaming world to its foundation," according to its Facebook page. Well, in that case anything less than a mutated lizard, gigantified by a diet of radiation and city buses will be a disappointment. It is Tokyo after all. Latest video tease after the break.

the Area-51 m15x is really good for the price, performance, and size
and it looks good, not trying too hard like other gaming laptops

Just because Alienware was taken over doesn't mean that only Dell people worked on the new M17X. I don't know the specific situation, but it probably was mostly still Alienware people working on the M17X team. Being part of Dell is double-edged sword - Dell management forces certain demands onto the Alienware team, but also provides more resources. For example, notebookcheck says that the M17X is as well built as Dell's business line, which is really nice.
I would love to see a new M15X with Dell goodies - RGB LED display option and build quality on par with the M17X especially. The new M17X seems like priestage icon than anything sold in large quantities; they should hurry up with models that more mass appeal.

Errr, what's new? A gaming PC with the new intel i7 processors? Really, it's hard making a "surprise" in PC gaming since the components are most likely announced already.
Alienware always hypes up new products but when they unveil them it's just some new laptop or computer with flashing lights or something.
Probably 3d since that's the flavor of the month.
It's dual DX11 cards with an 800 series i7. What else?

Thanks for saying that. I swear you just made me smile when I read your comment because I have been wondering that for quite sometime and so have many. I have a couple of plausible theories as to why but how plausible they actually are, is arguable. My reaction is also "wtf man??! Enough already". It has reached the point of being creepy now.
Admittedly, I have subjective feelings towards this creepy phenomenon because I'm an Asian guy.
Oh wait a sec... the Alienware announcement...yeah, *ahem* I believe it'll be a dancing disco Godzilla case with accompanying disco lights that can be customized to alert you to new emails and such with an exclusive Alienware theme song - "dance, dance, smile, smile, kill, kill - happytime!"

TGS is Tokyo Game Show. It is most fitting to show an Asian woman. If this was Ubisofts Conference, theyd show a French woman. Common sense there buddy. It's called Invasion for a reason ala Godzilla invading JP.

well if u follow the link there are 3 alien faces and the ad says "THEY" are comming so alienware maybe having 3 lines of product each with different features and strengths... but thats only a guess though..

It's going to be a new computer line with the Radeon HD 5870 and Radeon HD 5850.

I have an M17x, it's a great computer so a smaller version of it would be great to replace the current M15. And BTW the M15 isn't available anymore here in France, so that should be some kind of hint ;)
I finally got it: they're playing on the whole alien abduction thing. And the take-out-a-second-mortgage pricing accounts for the anal probing.
I don't ever bad talk a company, but to anyone thinking of buying an Alienware, all I have to say is look elsewhere. You might get lucky and get a system that never needs service, but if you do need service, good luck. They don't understand customer service. Do your research, look online, google Alienware problems, or alienware sucks and you will see the horror stories.
I have my own, actually 2 really bad experience with them (both desktop and laptop).
Stay far away, do your research please.

I'd like to see an Alienware console come out. Not all that crazy to imagine.
Back when the iPhone was just a rumor, everyone was wondering why the hell Apple would make a phone when all they did was computers, but sure enough they did and it turned out somewhat successful...
A new Alienware console would defiantly shake the gaming world up a bit, but I'm not going to hold my breath...
The game console industry cannot support another console. There are already difficulties porting multi-console games between Xbox and PS3, and the PS3 games tend to suffer because they were developed for Xbox and not tweaked to exploit the PS3. One more console would make this worse.
