I can't get past how crappy the hardware is.
Why is the hardware crappy? I've heard it's on par with the iPhone 3GS.
It's not. The unit feels a bit loosely put together. The small switches and covers (like over the USB port) feel like crap. And the keyboard is a little bit too small.
Some people have had a problem where the screen becomes semi-unhooked and will rotate instead of slide.
All and all it's not terrible, but it doesn't feel as solid as an iPhone 3G/3Gs or even a Touch.
@why not the LS2LS7? look at the fanboys go!!! why are you even posting on this story?
No... he's right. I have a pre, and the slider has seemingly gotten a bit looser over time. The guys in the forums refer to it as "oreo" since the top and bottom halves seem to "screw off" a bit. But, there was a certain date (in July I think) where build quality remarkably increased.
If 1.2 doesn't fix the app install limitation then all of these new apps mean nothing to me.
Here here!
I don't even like the media sync function. Why would do you do that when you can just drag the files to the Pre and avoid iTunes completely.
Great can't wait. Looking forward also to the OS updates. So far its been about 4 months and I'm still satisfied with the phone and Sprint. Biggest con is battery life but overall I like the feel in my hand a lot better than the Iphone and I will sacrifice battery life for being able to have multiple apps open. I was just setting up notifylink yesterday on an Iphone and reminded me how annoying it was to have to exit a program before opening another one. Also, quite a few have said the slider is junk and yes it is a bit loose but nothing that bothers nor concerns me yet so I'm not sure if that's nitpicking or a real issue.
Man the rabid palm fanboyism is startling. I wish they'd stay here and OUT of the apple threads.
