No abkyuubi47, it actually isnt.
I'm not sure if 'chin chin' in the title is supposed to be the Italian toast or not, but if so its spelled Cin Cin....not double chin...fyi
Doesn't matter it is Italian toast or not. For sure XBOX got toasted by PS3! :)
Capital letters? r u sure
Just fyi, xbox still has a 6 million lead. Not that I care either way.
I'm assuming the author meant "ching ching!", as in the 'cash sound'.
It's French as well. Not sure of the spelling though, I always though it was as the got it "chin chin"
You do know that "chin chin" is a japanese word right? hehehe Dare not say what it means though.
@Bratkun, are you sure you don't mean "chi chi", as in a babytalk form of "breast"?
I'm glad someone pointed out this terrible fo paw (sic) before I did - it is indeed cin cin even though it's pronounced chin chin! Bless you sir for being on top of everything that is good in this world!
since when is engadget not big on reporting sales figures?
isn't it cha-ching?
Chin Chin is what Japanese people SAY means "cheers" but it really just means "dick dick". Kanpai is the correct way to say Cheers. You got DUPED!
And it still doesn't have wireless N.
i think its the spanish chin chin, its like cheers or something
o-chin chin means penis in Japanese, Engadget.
:3
and for the record, isn't it CHA-CHING?
How could the writer of this post screwed that up is beyond me...
1 Million happy users.
See you guys at PSN.
Or 1 million happy bluray watchers. I haven't touched the controller since the initial setup, but I've been watching blurays like crazy. Got season 2 of Terminator:SCC in right now, watching "Alison from Palmdale" as I type this. I might pick up Batman:AA after the price drops, but there just aren't any exclusive titles out right now that are worth putting up with the wonky PS3 controller as far as I am concerned. Now when Heavy Rain comes out, I'll be one of the first in line, but I have to really enjoy the game to put up with the hand cramps I get after only an hour of futzing with that damn Suxaxis.
Anyway, as far as a bluray player, I couldn't be happier with the PS3. I know it's load times are slower then the latest stand alone models, but for what it does, you can't beat the price. I wish it had a competing on-demand video service like Netflix 360, but that's just nitpicking. Anyway, that's my two cents, and I'm happy to add my console to that list of one million sold. It looks quite stylish tucked next to my Xbox Elite.
Your as delusional as Cornezy(See below).
Reduce price, increase sales! Hey, who thought that econ 101 actually works!
Doesn't always work like that. The Amiga sold better at higher prices in some countries.
@dave
its called price elasticity and Demand,
I genuinely do like the first generation; however, that doesn't make it the more popular choice. Sony needed sales, and that's what they got.
im sure Nintendo is terrified right now...
I'm sure they've made all the profit they could've ever hoped for and wouldn't mind terribly even if the Wii manufacturing plant shut down.
They've probably forgotten that they have Wii manufacturing plants
Terrified? Nintendo has sold almost as many Wii's as Xbox360 and PS3 combined. On top of that, they made a profit on every system sold while Microsoft and Sony took losses on the hardware sales (at least initially, I don't know about the present day hardware costs). You really think they care at this point? I'm betting they are feeling fat and happy. Maybe even complacent... We shall see what the future holds!
@gamechld
im glad to see you understand sarcasm....
That's why they didn't need to price drop the Wii... oh wait... never mind.
1 million new happy blu-ray watchers...................hey................they can't be playing games because PS3 has no exclusives really!!!!
How is it possible that you're commenting...because you have no brain really!!!!
Play Uncharted, then reconsider.
PS3 has no exclusives?
C'mon someone type out a list for this fool
I won't bother typing all those games to someone who will never be able to play it.
;)
Here goes me:
Well, cornezy is not gonna read this but at least other readers can see this. Next time another stupid arguement like this comes out ,just copy and paste.
1.)Uncharted 1 and 2 (uncharted 2- claimed to be a technical milestone in video games by a few review)
2.)Metal Gear solid 4 (got 10/10 in Gamespot, only 2 games got it- GTA4 and this one)
3.)Other Critically acclaimed: Killzone 2, Infamous, little big planet, resistance 1 and 2, valkryia chronicles
others: disgaea 3, motostorm
4.)Upcoming: God of War 3, Gran tourismo 5, heavy rain,
these are all the good ones that are ps3 exclusive, i ommited others that are not as good.
Plus online gaming with call of duty is free, no yearly membership. One word, One million sales = to more exclusive games developed for the ps3.
You know... thats not that many good exclusive games, ive played resistance 1 and 2, and killzone 2 they where so disapointing
little big planet is fun for like 40minutes (face it everyone, its a wii game)
i yet to try uncharted as im low on $$$ atm
but ill agree MGS4 kicked ass so much
im not here to cause a fight, but that list you gave if i was to look at it with no biased opinions either way, id pick the xbox 360
(FYI i have both)
1.)Uncharted 1 and 2 (uncharted 2- claimed to be a technical milestone in video games by a few review)
4.)Upcoming: God of War 3, Gran tourismo 5, heavy rain,
metal gear solid ? more like metal pooh solid, that games stinks. killzone 2 is kind of average and not as much fun as it looks like it should be. little big planet is just a wii game , like someone said , its like playing with plasticine, resistance 1 was balls ...( valkyria chronicles and disgaea are rpg games so they are automatically rubbish and motor storm isnt all that).
this leaves uncharted: drakes fortune , which IS excellent. but also you missed out monsters, which is probably the best game out of all.
@CHENG
You forgot 3 titles Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction, Quest for Booty expansion, and A Crack in Time
If THAT list is supposed to motivate someone to pickup a PS3 for great exclusives........yeah, um, best of luck to ya
@Sinjin
Someone's been taking Yahtzee a little too seriously, I think.
Well, I'm not here to say which game is good and which one is bad. I'm just writing down what games are exclusive to the PS3. Cause I think it is unfair that Xboxfanboys keep using this as a reason to put down those who have a ps3. Its like comparing older gen consoles- ever tried compraing if a ps2 hace more exclusive titles than the original xbox? resident evil 4, metalgear solid, devil may cry, final fantasy and etc.
the person a few posts above made a good list, without being a fanboy and spewing titles, but if you must insist:
3D Dot game hereos
Afrika
Agent
Demon's Souls
Disgaea 3
Eyepet
FF Versus XIII
Flower
Folklore
God of War 3
GT 5
GT 5 Prologue
Heavenly Sword
Heavy Rain
inFamous
Katamari Forever
Killzone 2
The Last Guardian
LittleBigPlanet
MAG
MGS4
MLB: The Show series
ModNation Racers
Motorstorm: Pacific Rift
NBA 07/08/09
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Pain
Quantum Theory
Rachet & Clank CiT/ToD/Quest for Booty
Resistance 1&2
Ridge Racer 7
Sing Star
SOCOM
SuperCar Challenge
Time Crisis 4
Twisted Metal
Uncharted 1 & 2(you'd be a fool to think uncharted 2 is not an awesome game, with endorsments from bungie/infinity ward/the first game to achieve a 21/20)
Valkyria Chronicles
Warhawk
White Knight Chronicles 1 & 2
NOTE #1: I didn't name all of the exclusives, just the ones that I know about
NOTE #2: Yes, I went through the wikipedia list of games
NOTE #3: Didn't include many (if any at all) PSN titles, even though Fat Princess should be in that list
NOTE #4: Some games I listed are franchises, and have more than 1 game in the series
See, I'm a PC user/gamer tried and true, so I cant understand this, its three years old, minor changes and it still sells like this. PC tech advances leap and bounds in that time, how is this still competitive with hardcore gamers, the same goes for the xbox,
Console gamers were all once PC gamers too who got tired of throwing hundreds of dollars in video card/ram upgrades every 8-9 months to play that graphically awesome new game. If you look at uncharted 2 on the PS3 /Gears of war 2 on the 360, the graphics are good enough to keep you impressed until you play through the whole game.
@bumblo I was hardcore PC gamer for years, I never bought a system, I always built because you can always get faster memory, HDD, etc cheaper. After having kids with less time it became a pain in the ass. Tweaking config files to squeeze a few FPS out of games, my last games were Counterstrike & BF2.
I now primarily play games on my PS3 and got rid of all my PCs and replaced it with an iMac so I'm not tempted to PC game anymore. I spend less time tweaking and more time playing because of it.
I cant imagine having a group of friends/visitors/family all gathering around my pc to play a game on a keyboard and mouse ( do you need 2 keyboards for 2 player games ?) and also , why would i want to have a pc in my living room making all that noise ( xbox 360 does this too) and also , do i really want to wait for my pc to boot into windows when i want to have a quick game with a friend?
see, pc might have the edge in terms of graphics and hardware but it hasnt got the overall package.
with consoles it's all there from the get go.
Even with the price drop, I will still wait until Black Friday. Help me out by then and point me to the best deal Engadget!
There's lots of us PS2 owners out there. We've always wanted a PS3. We like Playstations.
All Sony had to do was give us one that we could afford.
Alot of us PS2 owners are now fully responsible adults, with full time incomes and less available free time. I've got my PS3 Slim now, and although I haven't played it much yet, cos of time constraints, i'm eagerly awaiting to buy my second once the price halves again as it inevitably will in 2-3 years time. I think Sony have got it right now.
