Blu-ray releases on September 28th 2009

You know we can't help it so here we go -- we're off to see the Wizard on Blu-ray this week as one of the all time classics is released in HD, but other than that there isn't much to get excited about. Sure if you like TV shows you might be interested in the latest seasons of The Unit or How I Met Your Mother and like usual there are plenty of other catalogs to help complete your collection, but most can keep waiting for the Summer blockbusters to open their wallets.

I'll be getting Wizard of Oz, but at Target. They have an exclusive 3-Disc set without all f the "Swag" in the Deluxe Edition.

Ben, I'm wondering, why don't you provide thumbnails for each move, or simply link each movie to it's page on imdb, amazon, or blu-ray.com? I know it's extra work, but it's a whole lot easier for your readers. I remember you used to do this in the past, no?

Good movie, not great. Wall-E was great, The Incredibles was great. Monsters vs. Aliens was good.

I hear there's a version of The Wizard of Oz at Wal-Mart that's even cheaper ($19.99) than the Target release, but it's going pretty unpublicized.

Someone took a picture of it but I haven't looked in the circulars for any mention of it.

Monsters vs Aliens does qualify for a blockbuster, it was the big Dreamworks animated movie of the year/ summer...

We know you are all waiting for Star Trek, UP, Terminator 4, Transformers 2, Ice Age 3, Angel & Demons, Harry Potter 6 and Night at the Museum 2, but come on ! :)

(let's not forget Year One, Land of the Lost, Drag me To Hell which should also sell decently)

The Dark Crystal was a very good movie for its time. Too bad Jim Henson died tragically early. I would have liked to see what he would have come up with next.

Anyway, I be getting that one.
