Keepin' it real fake, part CCXXXV: TigerG3 looks like a Hero, doesn't act like one
If we weren't too terribly impressed when the HTC Hero made the leap from Europe to the States, at least our funny bones are tickled by the device's inauguration into full-blown KIRFhood. Reports differ on the OS of the thing, but the features are 100% iPhone knock-off, including: dual SIM support, 1.3 megapixel camera, analog TV, FM radio, WiFi, and support for a host of audio and video formats. It's too bad this thing is only supports overseas (900MHz / 1800MHz) GSM -- for $140 we might be tempted to play. If you're in Oceania and looking for a new phone, hit the read link to see for yourself.

Least it has a chin. I like the chin. All phones should have chin.
CHIN!
What about double chins for us fat Americans?
Verizon bring out a Double Chinned Hero!
so THAT'S where all the chins missing from the sprint versions went!
Wow, that thing has more chin than The Tick!
More Chins than Chinatown!
it's the HTC Leno version...
"Google Android system, touch-screen 3G handsets HTC Hero? At first sight TigerG3, its like a lot of people would be extremely HTC Hero by Huyou appearance. Coupled with the iphone like user interface, can be imagined both for the iphone, or HTC Hero fans are supporters of all be tempting. However, TigerG3 is not the believers have their tables. Support wifi wireless high-speed Internet access, built-in Java2.0 as well as the gravity acceleration sensor, the configuration of the 1.3 million-pixel digital zoom, dual camera, support for analog TV retractable, TigerG3 focus on the core functions nowadays. Together 20 countries and regions, languages, users will no longer be limited" - From the read link.
Well at least it can sense when gravity is accelerated.
It'll be handy when the LHC switches back on, for sure.
That means accelerometer. Detects tilt?
Gravity is acceleration, as it is measured in distance/time^2.

Since when the iPhone has dual Sim, FM radio and analog TV?
they should have said 100% KIRF standard, which isnt really a bad thing.
They didn't say they were iPhone features, they said they were "iPhone knock-off" features...

Or an Android device?
I was going to say the same thing. No iPhone has a 1.3MP pixel cam either, and I wouldn't call its A/V format support extensive.
Not that I care, I
Thanks for incorrectly parsing my message Engadget ;)
Still <3 my 3GS :)
fm radio, tv antenna, 700mhz processors man some of theses kirfs are better than the things there knocking off maybe htc and the other phone manufacturers can learn a thing or two from them.
And it costs $140 with no contract.
KIRF, oh how i missed you, I thought engadget had giving up on these post. Cool, do a couple per day.
Yay for having to manually encode entities ;)
I could use dual SIM
Dang, these KIRF guys are always so much faster as actually perceiving what the market wants and getting it to them.
The KIRFers sure keep a close eye on tech blogs.
