Leaked BlackBerry Atlas gives Curve 8900 its CDMA counterpart?
Gemini had its Aries, and now it seems Javeline (a.k.a. the Curve 8900) has found its own CDMA equivalent in the BlackBerry Atlas. (Isn't a shame that RIM's device codenames are so often catchier than their final designation? But we digress.) A new BlackBerry has hit the internet in grainy photograph form, and according to Salomondrin with additional notes from Crackberry, the pictured leak (it's the one on the left) boasts CDMA bands, WiFi, and a 8900 series keyboard. Mum's the word, officially and otherwise, on pretty much any other details, but hopefully RIM won't keep us waiting too long.

i ... i ...dont think i see a difference..or do i?
All blackberries look the same anyway, they should learn from apple on how to make their phones look "different".
Yup...you know how all those iPhones look different from each other.
Wait, what?
@DR HOUSE was that supposed to be sarcastic cause all this writing looks the same to me.
Blackberry really needs to distinguish its product line.
Anyone else notice they say "but we digress" like 5 times a day...
the one on the right is the onyx it has the bold style keyboard the atlas would have the curve style keyboard. I actally prefer the look and use of the curve style buttons. rim release a curve with a trackpad 3g wifi agps a processesor to rival the big boys a 5mp cam and throw in a touchscreen for good measure and you would have a game changer
Fantastic! Another variation of the same f'n thing Blackberry has been pumping out for last few years
No wonder RIMM stock has tanked because sales are definitely slowing as Iphone and Android phones eat RIMM for lunch
are you sure ?
Rim's stocks have been very steady the past few quarters. sorry to break your hating bubble.
Then what is the difference between this and the Tour? I'm not trying to hate, I'm just honestly confused...is it just the inclusion of wi-fi as well?
It *looks* like it also has an optical trackpad instead of the rollerball.
I cant tell the difference between a new blackberry and an older model. They all look the same.
do you see a trackball?
WHAT'S WITH THE CHICKLIC KEYS?????? DON'T CDMA USERS DESERVE A NICE KEYBOARD ANDDDDD WIFI???
WHAT'S WITH THE capital letters in my post?????? DON'T Engadget USERS DESERVE An intelligent comment that is not construed as screaming???
Looks like a Curve to replace the CDMA 8330 since the Tour was to replace the CDMA 8830 WorldEdition. And yes, Wifi, so finally perhaps what Sprint promised to its BB fans will come true; that Sprint's phones will now come with WiFi as well. I say meh.
After using 4 blackberries, I can honestly RIM is losing it, they keep pumping out the same device with the same internals with a either a keyboard, trackball/ trackpad, wifi and 3G variation. Creativity ceased after the Bold and everything since has been an altered copy. Try this RIM, take a hint from all other platforms which are focusing on developing their OS'es. Yours is showing its age, doesn't matter how beautiful the hardware.
"it's the one on the left"
But the one on the right has all the plastic "annoy the hell outa me" stuff on it still.
When the "Atlas" name first appeared it was supposed to be a Wifi Tour (which is now the "Essex" I believe)
Now we have a CDMA Onyx with a Curve keyboard
Double

Eff
Finally a Blackberrry name that makes sense. The Curve being a cheaper version of the full featured Blackberries, they called it an Atlas. So you can study an atlas while you're broke, and when you finally make the real dough, you can go on a tour.
...and Bold(ly) mine Onyx from the quarries in Essex England! ;)
This is not a CDMA phone, it is GSM phone without 3G, only EDGE. It's basically the curve 8900 with a trackpad.
That one on the right is not an 8900 series (Curve) keyboard; it's a 9xx0 series
(Bold/Tour) keyboard. Actually, that phone's width calls the Bold
9000 much more into mind, even more so than the Bold 9700.
looks like the one on the right is the Onyx in my opinion - appears wider.
zzzzzprezzzzzprezzzzzpre
haha, i love blackberry leaks, there is just a picture of a supposedly new phone that looks like all other blackberries
I hope to GOD that they make a CDMA version 9800.
Now that is going to be a good phone.
You can keep this one.
Got one of these in the office. Not overly keen. They keys are like the Bold keys but on something more in scale with the 8900.
The back has a leatherette effect like the Bold did too. Just not keen.
8900 with 3G and slight styiling difference, just give the 8900 3G and that would be the best. I understand that is something that is forthcoming.
a Tour with wifi and a trackpad. already.
excellent phone to have with excellent features. . i checked to the point review here http://www.doanalyze.com/blackberry-curve-8900-javelin-pros-cons-review/
