Vertu Constellation Ayxta luxo-flip slums it at the FCC
You might think you're hot stuff for carrying around a new Vertu Constellation Ayxta, but this is America, bub -- and your blinged-up Nokia has to kick it at the FCC just like everyone else. Of course, without that fancy always-on-call Concierge service and Vertu Select, all you're really looking at here is a pretty anonymous featurephone wrapped up in high-end garb, but you're not spending your $10,500 on features here -- you're spending it because you're too lazy and rich to buy something good.

It may be expensive, but personally I think the design is sexy as hell. I would buy it as a secondary phone if the price was on par with a normal phone.
If by "sexy" you mean "ugly", I whole-heartedly agree.
I think it looks pretty neat, but I'd take my Curve 8900 over a fancy non-smart phone any day.
How many times does it unfold?
Or if by sexy you mean 1999...and ugly
It looks like it was designed by the same guy that came up with the pleather arm rests for airplanes in 1984.
guys....guys... it's not ugly
its... F-U-G-L-Y.
Very 'meh" design. I wouldn't call it ugly, but it ain't attractive.
It DEFINITELY is not 'elegant'. Looks overstyled for the Transformers set.
The only way it's not ugly is if it's an Autobot.
Vertu's crazy prices psychologically make potential buyers think it looks good.
Comes with free calls to any 5 hookers in yourFaves. (24/7)
Don't do hookers - you could get a bad case of Vertu.
It looks like a rejected design for the Next Generation Enterprise. (facepalm not included)
Or the new Acura TL. Which is fugly.
Not a fan of Vertu...
Is this phone wearing heiney-less chaps?
I've been an owner of a Vertu for several years now and I really do need a new one. May just pick this one up. Love the design and concierge service.
Very good Lyndon !
I've been looking for a guy like you for a long time because I have a very beautiful and famous bridge to sell you for a really convenient price.
that was hilarious plex! haha
lol nice. But really, if I had the kind of money to buy something like this, I would want it to be at least a couple years ahead of everything else on the market technology wise.
doesn't Captain Kirk use a similar device after Bones declares the death of the minor bridge crewmember??
It looks like an electric razor.
+1
lolz... IT'S A FLIP PHONE!!!!!!! BWAHHHAHHAHHAHA~!$~$~@~@$#%%!!!
@eric But for all that money wouldnt you want real functionality and not just feature phone garbage from the RAZR days?
The worst part is that the phone does not even look expensive, just gaget-y, i don't think anyone would know that you dropped 10Gs on that phone unless they where a phone guru, and if they where they would be like...why did u blow that kinda dough on a such a over priced phone.
Trust me, rich people don't need to advertise that they're carrying this and that. And Vertu is really, and I mean really, top notch quality for people who don't feel the need show their money. There's "lots" of people like that in Europe, they just like to keep low profile.
And there's nothing over priced in Vertu, quality and real service costs. Your AT&T contract, however, is over priced when the same service cost less with another smartphone.
The same idea is visible everywhere: only the social climbers, lottery winners and all sorts of new arrival white trash with money have the need to show their wealth with stupid sport cars and by appearing on every possible spotlight. The high class always stays in the background and acts like they're accustomed to.
The US might be a different story.
@Eric the only way i'd pay that much for a phone is if it came with a Dodge Neon.
Just... fugly. You think I'll be impressed when you whip this out? I will laugh in your face. It's the mobile phone equivalent of that $800 iphone app, the one that just shows a big red gem on the screen, except it would show a picture of a turd.
Why not spend the $10,500 on a trip to Taiwan and bribe the CEO of HTC to give you a pre-release Leo? THEN I'd be impressed.
just got mine. all you poor people don't understand true quality. when i flip my phone i want people to see my vertu and know i dropped g's.
We may not understand quality, but at least we can use capitals and proper grammar - just like we were taught in grade one.
okay don't hate just because i have a vertu constellation ayxta.
Quality doesnt mean crap when its a mother effing 2002 nokia flip phone in a not even well designed case. You whip this out in front of anyone and they are going to think you are to cheap to buy an iphone or N series nokia.
By golly, this is another flexing of status, similar to the essence of the expense people into horology go to great lengths to determine. If you have something that says so much about who you are, because of the money you can spend(sic) on your person at all times, then you hence fourth project this tangible image of success. The more money you spend on something that could actually cost a fraction of the price, the better for your established back patting network of wealth mongers. People who know not the value of anything other than money creating a barrier between themselves and a real world they exploit. Money they made by perpetuating something they seldom had any true hand in creating. It is quite repellent to think that there are companies willing to massage the ego of the uber rich and bolster the argument that there exists an economy of immoral exchanges between those who could infact 'afford' to make good concerning the state of the world.
I wish they'd do a signature blackberry, not that I could ever afford one. I just think the Bold 2 (nice as it is) would look sick in titanium and suede instead of cheap silvery plastic and leatherette. :D
That would be some trick, considering Vertu is owned by Nokia.
It looks like a toy from the Transformers!
"It's like a baby's toy!"
-Elijah Wood, Back to the Future Part II
ugly, it has the same awkward knob at the bottom where the mic is.. like all the old razr phones.. I hate that design
Now if you were really rich and powerful you would buy one of these and destroy it on film and post the video here for us all to marvel at your phenomenal cosmic power. There I put the challenge out there, I await your video reply, oh master of the universe.
They don't seem to be very easily destroyed..

nice rugged design.
it's got that manly feel...
I think I'd rather spend that money on three or four 60+ inch plasma TVs.
Or feed a small village for a year.
this horrible thing looks like a samsung/lg flip phone from 3-4 years ago. and to price it at 10k.
