e-WOLF e2 seeks to electrify, succeeds
Woah. Looks like the Shelby Aero finally has some competition on its hands in the EV supercar stakes. Weighing in at less than 2,000 pounds, but generating north of 736 foot-pounds of torque, the e2 should be, uh, kinda fast, while claims of a half hour charging time and a 187-mile cruising range are just too stupefying to contemplate. Power is stored in 84 lithium-ion battery packs from CERIO, and unleashed via four 134-horsepower motors -- one for each wheel. If you liked e-WOLF's e1, but thought it needed a dash of spicy Lamborghini-inspired styling and the acceleration to reach 60 miles per hour in less than four seconds, well here's your answer. Production is set for 2011, and you can ogle the car's rear end after the break.

Horrible cross between a Lambo LP640 Versace Editon a Reventon and a Ferrari Enzo.Yuck looks like a KIRF
Looks like a Ford GT90.
Carbon Fiber again?
There's an E-wolf in your closet
The front looks like a BAMF - The back looks like WTF
That thing also looks like one giant blind spot.
WTF are you looking @????????? I JIMPed before even reading it...
thats one ugly backside.
cross between a lamborghini reventon, ferrari enzo, maserati MC12 and four electronic (albeit powerful) food blenders
Perfect for The Stig, he always wanted something to go with his V12 blender...
Dear American auto industry,
If you produced cars like this, we wouldn't have to bail you out.
Sincerely,
American taxpayers
Because cars like these are in all of our price ranges...
Don't need to be Duke - I typically think that the Halo car concept does not work, however when it is something that is used to push the limit of technology that can eventually push its way into consumer level vehicles, you can sell 100 of these at 500k a pop and have a dramatic impact on the rest of the line...
If you can hybrid an Escalade you can hybrid anything.
But if they made electric cars, how would they benefit from the oil industry??
@greg are you a politician?
I have trouble seeing how car companies would have done better by making a few really expensive cars rather than cater to what the masses need. So, while you may like this car and its looks - I fail to see that selling 100 of these would do anything to aid the car company when they could be selling 100,000 of something far more beneficial to the end consumer and gain that many loyal customers if they did it right. The needs in electric cars is to make them cheaper and more accessible for everyone, not go the other way around with them.
@Greg
BINGO! How does an electric car help my greedy, predatory corporatist bottom line, especially if I can't get between you and your power supply? If only I could block the sunlight (and wind) and make you pay for access to it! DRILL BABY DRILL!!!
@Duke
You could see it as how the Corvette attracts people to the lot. You see car Z, you drive in and see car Z its to much money but look anyway, car salesman is up ur ass and tries to sell you another semi-exotic car, but you would need a lot more then 100 and bring the cost down to an 100k range.
We should all buy a tesla roadster!
They do... now go buy one:

Real cars... muscle cars, capable of being fine-tuned and wrecking the crap out of any Italian/British/German speed demon.
I wouldn't mind paying for a car like THAT for 50 years. I will sell my body on the street to pay for its monthly installments. JK lol I wouldn't go in complete debt for any car. ANY.
@ Kevin - Thank you! Was about to post something similar...
@Kevin.
You know, in Europe we have this thing called Corners!. Muscle is nice on straights, and that is about it.
Looks like an Enzo with hideous wheels.
More like a Zonda!
I doubt those wheels would even be legal on a production model.
Sweet car!
I'll take one!
Does it come with options for hood-mounted machine guns and deployable armor plating? The mileage of my old batmobile SUV is driving me to crime...
Add a few armaments (machine guns, missles, etc) and defensive measures (oil slicks and smokescreens), paint it black, and go Spyhunting..
Just make sure you have the semi to back you up when you run out of ammo.
(cue the Peter Gunn theme music...)
@Evan
Hah... nice. It does look perfect for a Spyhunter game.
I don't see aspot for a license plate, is this only meant for Steve Jobs? The rest of us actually have to have a license plate.
It's a render.
That thing looks hideous
I assume those scoops and vents are actually acoustic channels for the engine sound effects?
It looks the part but I'm not buying one if it sounds like a milk float.
Your sarcasm module obviously sits closer to your brain's comment center than your ability for critical thought does.
They are for air-cooling the four wheel motors that each put out more than your mother.
No rear windshield?
That's exactly what I was thinking!
It's useless in most supercars anyway. The mid-mounted engine usually blocks your view. This obviously does not have that particular problem but they obviously stuck the batteries with their cooling system in there.
rear view camera ~ $150
Three cameras would cover all the angles and the side-mirrors should make it pretty easy to back up, besides, this thing is going to cost a fortune, of course they're going to have backup cameras.
Well, the front is gorgeous, and I got all excited to see it from the back, only to be greeted by...that.
If you're going to make a car that people only see speeding away in front of them, why not make the back side of it mildly attractive, instead of outrageously ugly.
Reventon clay model + cheese grater equals...
I want to see Jeremy Clarkson review this.
It's like if an Enzo and a Reventon had a kid that turned out to be vegan.
Needs flames on the side.
Make it go real fast.
I hope e-Wolf won't be receiving letters from Ferrari, Lamborghini, Koenigsegg and Zonda at the same time..........
The Mach5 comes to life!!! Huzzah!
"a recharge of just 30 minutes – of course it would take a powerful specialized charger to achieve that result"
Yeah, like being able to capture a bolt of lightning.
