Kempler & Strauss W PhoneWatch is everything we ever wanted in life
We're tired of wasting time waiting for LG's GD910 watchphone to mosey on over to these shores and rob us blind, and now we've found a new, cheaper bauble to love: the Kempler & Strauss W PhoneWatch. The W, which K&S calls the "world's smallest full-function GSM tri-band cellphone watch," has a touchscreen interface, camera, microSD slot and even comes with a Bluetooth headset in the $200 package. Better yet, it's available now -- if you can track one down.

looks very nice
and it doesnt make it look like youre trying to be cool using a watch phone . . . sorry LG. it just isnt.
am I the only one who though of HTC/TouchFlo when I saw this...
yes.
Great a watch phone for the price of an iPhone. I dont understand do you just put your SIM in the thing? Or does it connect to your phone? If the latter, whats the point?
Dick Tracy will rape you for your insolence.
Looks like nerds with the Casio calculator watches will have to step their nerd game up quite a bit now.
Damn, I was at the peak of nerd-ery for so long!
This looks pretty kewl...must suppress inner child wants...
$200? Oh wait, this is with a 17 year AT&T exclusive contract at $100 a month, right?
DX does not sell cellphone watches. They sell bluetooth watches that you pair with a phone which alerts you when u get a phone/sms.
TRI-band. Sigh. Every time I hear that buzzword, 850MHz is left out, so that kills it for the US and AT&T.
If only it could recharge itself on the wrist like other regular watches can.
No, its quad band. Check out the online brochure:
http://www.kemplerusa.com/brochure/default.html
and yes, it supports 850MHz
I just sent them an email (via Gmail) asking where this thing can be purchased. The message was bounced right back to me.
Real company or overwhelmed with the response?
Just Google Phonewatch and you'll find tons of other brands with similar features.

Please post when you hear something back if you successfully get in touch with them!
Hmmm, wonder if you can get it WITHOUT the phone?
chinese knockoffs tend to not work as well as good ol "Made in the USA" products!
Which made-in-the-USA phone watch are you referring to?
I'd rather use my phone as a watch, than my watch as a phone.
Brilliant, dont skip over this comment gentlemen, or ladies.
Totally agree. actually I only wear watches when I'm dressed up nice. and half the time they dont even work! they just look good haha. my phone is my watch...
Ah Paul, you are tired of waiting on the GD910 Watchphone. Haha
* shows off his wrist with a very nice watch: http://tweakers.net/ext/i/1254750642.jpeg *
(ps. Review online this weekend @ tweakers.net. )
How functional or practical could something this small be? This is a novelty at best.
I think its cool, it doesnt look all too nerdy..
Oh report button, how I love you at times like this.
I think I'm going to have to call shenanigans on this. Look at the top of the watch in the various pics on the site. The symbol jumps from a 'W' to a '&' to the Bluetooth logo to being blank on what's supposedly the same watch.
I think I agree with you.
Goes from matte to glossy too.
That plus the bounced email??
Is it FCC compliant and can it work in the U.S. ?
So could this be real???? O_O
Would be interested.
Looks good; I like it. I personally hate carrying a cellphone with me - carrying as in putting in my pocket and having the extra weight and bulge, or on my belt so it sticks into my side; putting it dow somewhere and then looking for it, etc... As opposed to wrapping a watch around my wrist in the morning and then totally forgetting about it except when taking a glimpse at it for the time...
So yeah, I think I am different from all the people who prefers to carry a phone and using it as a timepiece... But hey, I use my cell for calls strictly, besides I am now officially "over the hill" and starting to become conservative in life's dealings...
17mm thick? And I thought LG GD910 (13.8 mm) or even Samsung S9110 (12 mm) were bulky.
its great ? but what is the price . Any Distribution agreement in the middle East?
