Motorola Sholes to launch by holidays, along with the BlackBerry Storm 2 and Nokia Booklet 3G
Well well, it looks like the Android-powered Motorola Sholes will be out on Verizon by the holidays. That's at least the impression we're getting from a bunch of leaked Verizon retailer documents posted up by Boy Genius Report, which also indicate the BlackBerry Storm 2, Curve 2 and LG Chocolate Touch will hit Big Red in time for eggnog, along with an unspecified netbook -- we're guessing this Gateway number. Speaking of netbooks, a similar document from Best Buy Mobile also leaked over the weekend, and it looks like the Nokia Booklet 3G will be exclusive to Best Buy and compatible with AT&T 3G. Oh, and the Pixi is coming, but you already knew that. Here's the real mystery, though: "There are multiple Android launches across multiple carriers, along with some new technology that doesn't exist today." That's certainly open for interpretation, so we leave it to you -- is Best Buy Mobile about to start selling teleporters, or what?

"Moto sholes" sounds like a foot rash.
It's pronounced "S holes".
the sholes looks pretty nice, going by that tiny pic of it. if that is what it will look like.

I really hope they change the name to the Tao, as Sholes reeks of blandness.
off topic...
does the whole up rank down rank matter to anyone? I'm really wondering because i find myself reading all text regardless of rank its just really annoying to try and read the low rank. but more often than not its just not a popular opinion. hence the downrank.
moto sholes sounds like something shingles to me.
On the off topic. I hear getting your comment in blue gets you all the chicks, so I'm in it for the long haul.
It's too bad about the Nokia Booklet being exclusive to Worst Purchase. I won't deal with that store, but the device itself is intriguing...hopefully it will come to other retailers.
Ofcz, it will be available from Nokia USA website itself and i guess Nokia flagship stores too.
What is it about the word "future" that gives anyone the indication it means before the holidays?
Saying its releasing before the holidays is really saying you guys don't have a clue when this phone is releasing.
At least they got rid of the d-pad's gaudy red color. I don't like that they are not using Blur on the Sholes, but the screen and the process rumors have me curious on which phone I will be looking at later this year.
Now this might be convincing

I'm glad it doesn't have blur, its for the teeny boppers.
I swear all Engadget has is cell phone stories now, isn't there Engadget mobile for all of this stuff. Take a glance down the main page and there is a ridiculous amount of cell phone entries. I love my cell phone as much as the next guy, but c'mon guys..this is getting really old. Let the Peabods bashing begin, i knew what i was getting myself into!
I think you're only seeing what you want to see. There are plenty of stories about video games and computer hardware. Open your eyes.
@Peabods
i agree. it should be categorized in the mobile section, but if there's nothing else to report (which im sure theres gotta be something...right? ........ guys?............where you going? ) then we're going to be bombarded with cellphone stuff.
ATM i am pleased there's lots of cellphone stuff as im currently waiting for more info on the MOTO 'droid set
Ok I've thoroughly reviewed every single of these devices price speed etc.
Can anyon please tell me y I should buy any of these over a $49 iphne 3g thru AT&T.??
Btw I hate apple But don't allow my hate to cloud my technical judgement that all these devices are inferior to iphone.
First of all $49 is a refurbished price. So only 3 months warranty. Thats the main difference between that and other phones, as you already know, how delicate the iphone's hardware is.
2nd, iphone 3g has only 2M camera, not good for video recording, i guess no multi-tasking. No inbuilt GPS. So go and spend >$100 for GPS kit and pay for its App too.
This is just a short list, go figure for more differences online.
It looks like Verizon finally put down the crack pipe and decided to change the shole's d-pad color from that hideous red. Seriously, it looked like a toy.
Does anybody know when the keyboard-less Sholes/Tao will arrive? Any GSM dates?
