'Need For Speed Shift' 250GB PS3 box art spied

We saw that new gray 250GB standalone PS3 Slim box the other day, and now we've got a shiny press shot of this Europe-bound Need For Speed Shift bundle, which will apparently retail for €350 -- only €50 more than its non-bundled 120GB counterpart. We'd heard tell of it before from deep within the bowels of the retail establishment, and it was named in Sony's original 250GB press release, but we hope Sony has a bit more to say about its much-rumored lineup of bundles for Europe before they spill all over store shelves on some vague, undetermined date.

NfS has become lame, boring and mindless car arcade (not even a simulator) ever since bought by EA. :(

I nostalgically recall days we spent crammed at one computer playing on a split-screen mode with a bunch of friends having tons of fun crashing our cars off of each other etc... But those times are long gone. That was possibly NfS 1 or NfS 2, I don't remember correctly.

Umm... Need For Speed has always been more arcade than simulation racing...

That said, I will say that I haven't enjoyed one since Hot Pursuit 2, and haven't loved one since High Stakes.

Yeah, "only" (€50) $73 more on a (€300) $438.5 console. (Yeah, Sony is making a nice profit on each PS3 sold in Europe at least)
Still a far better deal for our money than the Wii or XBox 360 tho.
Too bad the console itself has no modified top cover.

GameStation / HMV (and GAME I think) are already doing better bundle deals on the 250GB - I got one with NFS:Shift, LBP and KillZone2 at the weekend for £285

I got a 250GB PS3 with Fifa 10, killzone 2, and resistance 2 on Friday for £285 but returned the games and got it for £211 ($336).

This game absolutely sucks!, I'll admit that I've been a GT fan since the played it in the demo disc that came with my PSX and maybe that's why I'm accustomed to high standards when it comes to racing simulators.

Starting with the graphics, they are ugly, not as polished as GT5 prologue, Forza or even Dirt2 (some say it shares the same graphics engine with it).

But my main complain is in the driving mechanics. It is so impossible to control your car in a realistic manner when you have all driving aids disabled that you almost always end up with a power slide when taking a curve, the tires has a very low friction coefficient and behaves very weird definitively not fluid not responsive neither.

Don't believe the trailers, though the game may look as good as they do, once you are playing it becomes horrendous.
