GSM Palm Pre for O2 Germany pictured in the wild
The Palm Pre is scheduled to make its big GSM debut on O2 in Europe in just a few weeks, and it looks like final production units are making their way into the wild -- these shots of a German Pre complete with final box art and a localized keyboard just hit the wires. Nothing here you're not familiar with already, but man -- the GSM and the Pre, gettin' down. We'd only dared to dream, you know? Now all we need is a version with some North American 3G bands and we'll be all set.

Totally shopped, the keys are in the wrong places...
3.2.1. flame
i wont give you that honour
gah, foiled!
Its a german phone and most german phones are qwertz instead of qwerty.
So in fact, you are wrong.
Totally real!... That keyboard It's called QWERTZ... Almost like QWERTY but with the Z in that spot...
Wow, you guys have no sense of humor at all. Anyway, I think Palm really dropped the ball on the GSM version. If this had come out close to when the CDMA version came out, I may have bought it, but now with the HTC HD2 close on the horizon, ain't no way in hell. I just look at that screen and it just looks so... tiny!!
They could at least have typed in "the quick brown fox" or something instead of hitting a bunch of random keys.
/s?
funniest description of german ever.
"So small and handy, it lays good in the hand."
Hah, 3 years of German has paid off.
@ sweet greggo
it means: very small and handy, it fits nice in hand
Im due to upgrade in January (currently on iPhone), This or an Andriod device?
Android*
Pre
Compared to Android, webOS is likely going to be ubiquitous, I'd go with that.
WebOS just about smokes Android in every way. So yeah Pre!
Pre is the best bet...trust me. The more I use it, the more i like it.
Darn it... How I hate localized releases...
Why not make a ton of money and release it worldwide?
Are you listening Nokia?
Did you really just say "darn it"?
This is the internet, your mommy cant hear you.
You sure mommy can't hear?
Okay then... Fuck off!!! LOL... :)
What you mean are you listening nokia? Nokia is the one who releases all their phones worldwide..
When I said "Are you listening Nokia" I was making a reference to the by-no-means-worlwide-release of the Nokia N900.
Cheers!

decide in fact of your own needs @ x-blade...look what features do you need and test wich OS works fine with you
QWERTZ Keyboard? Come on!
Nothing a dummy Pre and a screwdriver (or phone disassembly tool) can't fix...

Looks like the keyboard keys come out easy.
considering the fact that the pre's price is dropping fast, i have to conclude that palm is cooking up something
interesting.
and i'll bet its high end, with excellent build quality, and generally fixes the first attempt's imperfections (build, battery).
combined with that beautiful OS they have, and multitasking, there's a good chance that their next phone will be pushing some envelopes.
BEAUTIFUL webOS,
but the hardware stinks. i really really really want to go palm instead of android, but i do not like the cheap hardware feel.
Sad part is that i bet palm will leave us t-mobile usa users out in the cold without aws 1700 mhz, more than likely it will support att 1900 mhz and 850 mhz
FINALLY!! My phone can comment on Facebook posts using the default FB app that comes on the Pre. It took long enough. I just noticed a few minutes ago. It could be that I've overlooked it since the update but I would like to think I pay more attention that that. Or maybe not :/
Dear palm, hurry the fuck up, thanks
Dear Palm, please come again once you decide to actually sell me your product without locking me into your exclusive deals. Otherwise you can just shove it.
Vielen herzlichen Dank.
That's a bit disappointing... I was hoping to get the GSM phone without a contract and use it in my country, but i totally forgot that German version has different keyboard.
That means no Pre for me... :( UK versions will be locked or wont be sold without a contract
