HTC Imagio pops live on Verizon with Windows Mobile 6.5
It's October 6th. A magical date in Redmond that will see the official launch of Windows Mobile 6.5 and the glorious onslaught of handsets upon which to ride. Like the HTC Imagio for example, now live on Verizon for $199 with a 2-year tithe. That price nabs a 5 megapixel autofocus cam, VZ Navigator, and V CAST mobile TV viewable on that 3.6-inch, WVGA display. Naturally, it also packs HTC's TouchFLO 3D UI. So, pull the trigger now VZW customers or wait to see what the day reveals? Tough call.

DAMN HTC YOU SCARY
Out of their mind is more appropriate for sellng a WinMo phone for $200.
HTC will have to pay me some serious moola to carry a WinMo phone
in my pocket considering how much productivity will be lost using
WinMo.
There are more HTC smartphones lately, Horatio, than could ever be dreamed of in your philosophy.
Sexy.. less the V Cast bullshit and whatnot.
When and how can I get 6.5 on my current WinMo handset?
xda-developers.com? Unless you have a Moto, or Samsung phone your most likely SOL.
One word: XDA
forum.xda-developers.com
Go to the ROM page for your phone, read the tutorial, pick a 6.5 ROM (I'm using build 23053 on my Tilt and it pwns), and download and flash away to your heart's content.
one thing you definitely can't do with a BlackBerry or iPhone.
@ Al
lol you beet me to it
The one thing I'm having trouble with XDA is I don't have an HTC. I have a Samsung SCH-i760. It seems that all projects that have been started on cooking ROM's for this phone have been scrapped with nothing actually releasing. :(
Shoulda gotten an HTC.
Thanks. I have the htc Diamond so hopefully I won't have any problems.
i'm sorry for asking the total n00b question, but would upgrading to 6.5, require me to have a data package on my HTC Shadow?
Dont worry, I already slapped myself a couple of times :)
Can't find a 23053ver rom for the cdma Diamond :(.
@dep3che You shouldn't need to have a data package because it involves flashing your phone's rom. Just search a tutorial on PPC geeks for flashing to a custom rom.
ppcgeeks is all about CDMA, XDA is for GSM only mostly.
PPCGeeks have the same roms but in CDMA form
Is it a smidge weird that I already saw an Imagio ad on the Engadget website?
I did! The first one I've ever seen! I'm not lying, I swear! Try F5ing a few times!
Engadget has ads?
What are Ads?!
Adblock Plus user
Is this a world phone too?
GAH....what happened to the HTC TOUCH PRO 2....did Verizon just send them back to HTC to be reprogrammed with WinMo 6.5....
THE WAITING IS KILLING ME!!
I am hoping that when I walk into the Verizon Wireless store today that they will actuallyu have WinMo 6.5 phones for me to play with.
Same here. I'm hoping the same thing. I have been waiting a week.
Why the hell does Verizon suddenly decide to get competitive with their selection and price points of Windows Mobile phones only after I ditch them for an iPhone?
Does this phone have the FM radio feature w/ included SW?
So basically...it's a Touch Pro2, with winmo 6.5, no keyboard, VCast tv, for "only" $50 more? Gee, sounds like a deal to me!
