Palm Pre coming to Spain on Telefonica on October 14
The European operators are really liking mid-October for their Pre launches, and that trend continues now that Spain's Telefonica has unveiled an October 14 availability date for Spain's very first webOS device. The phone's being offered on plans that will bring the cost of the handset itself down to anywhere between €0 and €219 (about $322) -- and if you're wondering exactly what you have to do to get it for absolutely free, well, you'll be shelling out €60 or more a month in voice plus €15 in data. You'll be able to pick it up both online and in your friendly local Telefonica shop, so it'll be interesting to see if any lines start forming -- just how many Palm fanatics are their in Spain, anyway?

Spread the world with your love pre :)
"Oh yeah baby... extend my slider..."
"Umm...."
"Oh, sorry about that. Sometimes I get turned off randomly."
"But I'm really hot..."
"Yeah, yeah. Its not you, its me. My battery is too small."
I don't know of any in Spain, but here's one in Italy. C'mon folks.
What are europes 3g bands?
Movistar in Spain uses GSM 900/1800 UMTS/HSPA 2100, UMTS/HSPA 900 (2009) - as seen on Wikipedia
First of all pardon my English: A friend of mine is tired of her Blackberry Pearl and just yesterday told me she wanted a decent smarphone with an iPhone 3GS in mind, but as the news broke today I showed her the Pre and its specs and now she's sold (prejudices aside, I always thought the Pre was being too obviously being targeted towards the female consumer). Problem is that she is currently on movistar and the pricing plays against those who do not come from other companies like Vodafone or Orange. She'll be at the local Telefónica Store the day it comes out.
No need to pardon your English. It's better than 80% of so-called native "English speakers."
Your English is also better than the guy who wrote this article. :)
I live in Spain and considering the service I'm used to around here its so bad when they say the pre is here in a week they meant to say a month.
Thanks! That's encouraging! I will go ahead then and say that a device like the Palm Pixi would sell better in Spain because of its friendlier form factor (at least for those who never owned a smartphone and those are a vast majority here) and because its lack of wifi wouldn't be an issue for wifi coverage in public areas is pretty limited. And we deserve it, we never had a decent Centro! Just that bad Vodafone modified version that was a bad joke.
I wonder how it will sell???? i was actually thinkin about getting the pre then the hero came out on sprint...
EBAY here i come.!!! just hope it wont cost more then 600$USD to get one.
Will this be a GSM one? Or still CDMA?
There are no CDMA networks in Europe.
Between 0 and €219? How about €419 with prepaid package on O2 in Ireland? Ouch!
That is a total of ~700 €, for the cheapest plan, including taxes:

Are you kidding me with this? Who edits this site?
I would buy one but not with telefonica, it´s the AT&T of Spain; overpriced and under preforming.
