iBike Rider case for iPhone aims at bikers, people with their arms full

The iBike Rider is a wrist-mounted iPhone case designed to give you easy access to your handset as you cruise around town looking for fights. When paired with its heaphone / mouthpiece, you can listen to tunes or accept calls via the headset. Of course, if you actually wanted to place a phone call it's a simple matter of stopping the bike, removing the phone from its case, removing your gloves, and then dialing away. But once you've done all that, jump back on your "hog," look both ways before entering traffic, and you're an Easy Rider once again! This bad boy is also useful for turn-by-turn GPS instructions -- but if you don't know your way to Bass Lake by now, what kind of a Hell's Angel are you? Available now for £34.10 (about $54).

it's a motorcycle, not a big wheel. please put your toys away.
you really need to be an experienced, savvy rider before you start adding distracting toys.
yes, taking calls, even handsfree is distracting. a motorcycle requires more attention than a cage.
Finally a device that can help eliminate iPhone users and distracted motorcyclists alike!
Does this thing do anything that a pocket doesn't?
I wonder how tight you have to keep the wrist strap to prevent it from sliding down to the bottom side of your wrist.
Finally, a way to kill those pesky motorcyclists without having to actually hit them.
I am ordering this, I've been looking for a solution and this is going to be a nice fit. I'll also have to second Mr_Drift in regards to cagers, us riders do not wait for you folks in your vehicles to tell us what you are doing, we are proactive and aware of our surroundings. For us it is life or death on the road as we don't have the same protection you folks have. The fact that I and many other on sportbikes can get out of your dumbass way in a flick of the wrist. Allows us to be better prepared when you don't shoulder check, signal, pay attention as you sip a coffee, chat on your phone and do your makeup.
It has nothing to do with the motorcycle law. You cannot operato a moving vehivle with BOTH of your ears covered.
Actually, it's not that much different from wearing a helmet in the first place; it's more like having speakers in your helmet VS wearing headphones, so you can still hear things you would hear in a helmet without speakers.
Eh... its lack luster, I want what my buddies got.
Mounted Audio Box with connections. You plug whatever you want into it, cellphone, GPS, mp3 player, then plug your helmet headset into it, you can use either of the two cables provided, one comes with a inline controler, the other a simple mute and volume controler.
Btw... I wear earplugs to protect my hearing, is that illegal too?
Yep, wearing headphones is illegal, and very detrimental to your driving ability, that's why deaf people are banned from driving or walking around unescorted. Think before you speak, numbskulls.
Yeah. Headphones are illegal(here.) Helmet speakers are allowed. And yes, you can hear just fine as well. Music and navigation, I prefer the screen mounted near the instrument cluster for that. Phone calls are not on my radar, still use a PTT setup for bike to bike chat. Autocom FTW.
Real Men Don't Use Pansy iPhones
There's nothing I like more than riding my motorcycle and not being able to hear an emergency vehicle barreling down the road. Over/under on the number of months until the first lawsuit.... 5.
As a motorcyclist, I would never get such a thing ... nor do I use an mp3 player or anything else that distracts from riding. Why go cage-free if you are just going to plug back in and put your mind to sleep?
Just out of interest, the people saying this thing is as dangerous as hell, do they ride bikes or not?
In terms of Turn-By-Turn GPS surely this thing is a lot safer than Garmin/TomTom devices that attach to the handlebars? I'd much rather hear instructions through a headset so I can keep my eyes on the road, rather than constantly looking down at a tiny screen which is also obstructing my speed/light indicators.
@(Unverified) yes i ride a bike 2009 Buell Firebolt and i don't use the Gps or any other type of electronic while riding i bought my rocket for fun and freedom not to be wired down and worried bout getting some where and they've had a GPS that let's you drive and it gives you directions wirelessly threw your helmet witch is safe but pointless just learn your way around if you don't know the roads not smart to drive a bike on
.... You serious one I'm young i know but I'm not stupid enough to buy this if i gotta make a call i pull my bike under a bridge or in a parking lot to do it no one looks out for us bikers so we gotta look out for ourselves if we didn't we'd all be dead .... this "i" craze every one is into is just stupid another useless product that apple supported that will just fail in the near future ... when people learn to go with old school stuff cause look it's been here for long time not going anywhere we'd all be better off
